We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Darrell Smith a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Darrell , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We love asking folks what they would do differently if they were starting today – how they would speed up the process, etc. We’d love to hear how you would set everything up if you were to start from step 1 today
If I was starting over today I would focus more on building the right relationships. Relationships and the circles that you are in are so key to your success as a entrepreneur.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a actor and entrepreneur. After studying acting I financed, wrote , castes produced, directed and starred in a short film called “ One More Chance” . I believe in taking matters into your own hands and using everything that you have in front of you. The film was nominated for best film at a film film festival and took notice of casting at HBO which in turn I landed a re-occurring role on there hit series “ The Wire “ . Everything happened so fast and in the moment. It also opened the door for me in entertainment business and I have worked with all major studios.
I took time off from acting and decided to focus more on helping others by telling there brand story in a holistic way to culture. I love helping people and just being generous makes me feel so good..
I love turning no’s into yes’s ! I love watching a brand go from 0 to billboards !
It’s such a thrill for me to see knowing that I was the inside man behind this or that project. But most of all seeing people dreams come true is the greatest feeling.
What I am most proud about is my failures. Because I learned from all my failures and that’s why no matter what’s in front of you got to keep chopping the wood. You will get there eventually. We are capable of doing anything and all things if we believe.
What sets my business apart from everyone else is that we think out side the box period ! We believe in building and circulating relationships and make it happen no matter what it takes !
We are now moving brands into spacial computing , AI , MetaVerse , Blockchain and etc. because this is where the future is going.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
This best source of new clients has been referrals honestly. Once again it goes back to building relationships. You never know who knows who. It’s like whenever you step outside your always in a audition. The candy store guy might know the owner of a tech start up who needs PR/ Marketing for there company. Etc . That’s why my advice is to always smile and be generous to everyone because you are respectful representing your brand every day even in down time people are watching you.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One lesson that I had to unlearn was that I am no different then anyone else. Growing up I thought at one point because I am a minority that I can’t do certain things and that’s just that. But then I learned that I am no different then the next person and I to can accomplish and deserve the life style that this person has achieved also. I am a supper big thinker and it’s scary how big I think and I am very confident but humble. No matter what have a vision and just start walking into the vision ! Keep asking ok “ what’s next “ don’t try and figure it all out this keep pushing forward and breakthroughs will keep coming. Most of us don’t get to where we want us because of self inflected thinking which causes fear and worry.
