Darrell, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s talk about social media – do you manage your own or do you have someone or a company that handles it for you? Why did you make the choice you did?

I do my own social media with help from my daughter. I never was on social media before I started this business and it has opened a whole new world to me.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

American axe throwing was born out fun. I tried axe throwing at a festival and fell in love with not only the fun of but the business aspect of being able to bring this kid of fun to more people. That is why we are a strictly mobile unit that can come to the customers. We get calls all the time from people that want to come to a brick and mortar store. I feel if we had to run a store that it would lose some of its luster for us. We love getting out to different events and meeting all kinds of people.

We always try our best to coach of the facilitate each and every customer through the process of learning how to effectively throw an axe.

It make the entire so much more fun when a person who had never throw an axe before, learns how to do it and scores. I like for my customers to not only have fun but to feel as if they acquiring a new skill.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

Absolutely. We introduced ourselves March of 2020. Covid was starting and events were shutting down. We got through with a hand full of events and were able to survive and succeeded.

How did you build your audience on social media?

I had never been on any social media. So I had to learn quickly how to navigate through social media to build my audience. Naturally I started by building my audience with my friends and family until it began to spread. . With social media, you have to put in the time and be creative with your posts.
