Darqueze, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
The mission of Daily Deposits Lifestyle Brand is personal. Imagine a small town kid watching his mom struggle, watching his grandparents struggle–not having anyone close to redefine what life is actually like on the other side, not having a vision of success because in our family success, riches, opportunities were merely dreams; and those dreams simply didn’t represent us. Our reality was survival. By the grace of God, I was met with the opportunity to not just chase but to actually achieve my wildest dreams, to play football at the highest level–a small town kid, taking it step-by-step, and day-by-day, I was able to shift the paradigm. That is what fueled Daily Deposits–I am a living, breathing testament of what we stand for and of what our brand represents.
Our mission is “To inspire and motivate individuals to remain consistent and grounded in the present moment–reminding them to stay focused on what they need to achieve today.” By taking on an air of consistency and intentional presence, I was the first in my family to go to college, graduate and I have since gone back to school and achieved an MBA–my younger sister has since followed suit and now has two degrees, my niece now has two degrees, and it doesn’t stop with us. The mission is about real transformation and the breaking of generational curses through a shift in mindset; and it continues to grow and have real impact. I’ve seen our principles in action, actually work and change lives.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Of course. My name is Darqueze Dennard. I attended Michigan State–Go Spartans! I’m an athlete, an entrepreneur, a business owner and all-around life learner.
Like I said, it was really a life transition that took place over time–I don’t know if I noticed it in myself initially but others noticed. People over the years would constantly and consistently ask “What keeps you going?” or “What makes you different?” Then you had the people who noticed that even in adversity, I still had a hunger, and where others gave up, I just kept going. So the brand came as a way to share my tools–the tools that kept me going. One of the things that kept me so grounded is structure; having a structured course of action or plan, so we are currently working on releasing our 13-Week Guided Planner; and this planner is just one of the many installments of the Daily Deposits Lifestyle Brand. This tool not just provides you with structure, but affirms your purpose and your value through daily affirmations. A lot of people think that they can “just wing it” all the time or that things will just “eventually fall into place” but that’s unrealistic. If you want it, you have to make a plan to go get it, it doesn’t just happen. So our products, the 13-Week Guided Planner in particular, provides the assistance that people need to create that structure. I can stand on it, because it’s the system that I used and that I continue to use.
It’s rare that you encounter brands that stay rooted in their values, and the Daily Deposits Lifestyle Brand’s identity is rooted in authenticity–it’s a mirror lifestyle brand; it’s a reflection of whatever you want to achieve. So, not only is that what makes us different, it is also what I’m proud of and what I want people to take away from the brand. Our consumers, clients and followers don’t have to worry about us straying from our moral compass–the brand is about building the people and that is what we will continue to do.
Daily Deposits is a constant reminder of hope–you can achieve anything you set your mind to through the grind, the work and through prayer.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
While the Daily Deposits Lifestyle Brand is still a developing brand, we do have a team that is committed to its growth, a consumer base that is loyal and ready as we continue to take roots and shift gears and I think that’s because people know my story–the same story that I shared as to why the mission is so important. As the founder and creator, the mission is personal, the brand is personal. I know and continue to see people in these mundane situations, struggling to break generational curses, and struggling to get out of broken systems–and with what I know now, it is my mission to create opportunities for people that were and are just like me. So, just me being myself and sharing these life transitions has shaped my identity in a market that is hungry for authenticity.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Yea, the story is really short and straight to the point. I was a zero star recruit; I ended up going to Michigan State, entered the NFL draft and was a first-round draft pick. I easily could’ve given up; I wasn’t even a prospect in high school; but I kept going, I kept working, I stayed down. What makes a better story than an underdog coming out on top? Keep going. Stay blessed up. Win the day. What you want is achievable, you just have to do the work.
