Alright, Darnella thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

During the fall of 2022, I was watching the Today Show 3rd Hour, when a segment on a candle making experience caught my attention, I thought Al, Dylan, Craig and Sheinelle were having such a great time that I thought, this looks like fun and it’s something I would do or better yet, I could start a business like this, Well by the end of the segment, they mentioned the company would soon be starting a franchise and boy was I excited.

I started the initial process to become a franchisee and was signed up before the year was over.. I was inspired to really make this happen after speaking with the Franchisor, Ashley Shilingford over the phone. I could feel her passion for the business, which reassured me that this would be a great fit for me and my family. The values of the business were in line with what I was looking for in a business.

The business fits in with my values because it allows me to present something to my customers that goes well beyond a candle. From the décor of the room, from the music selections, from the scent and vessel selections, from the corporate team, I am allowed to provide a space that brings people joy and happiness while creating new and everlasting memories with their family and friends and this is one of the best feelings I could ask for from a business.

At the time this all came to be, I was already looking into different business options that would provide a flexible schedule and allow me an opportunity to include my family. Well I believe i hit the jackpot with this one!.

Hello there, I am Darnella Gamble and I am the owner of ReWax and UnWine Johns Creek. I have been a franchisee of ReWax and UnWine since 2022 and opened my location on March 23, 2024. I became a franchisee after viewing a segment on the Today Show 3rd Hour and thought ReWax and UnWine looked like a lot of fun and by the end of the segment they mentioned there would soon be franchising the business and that peaked my interest. After doing additional research and asking a series of questions, I decided to move forward with the franchise.

ReWax and UnWine, is unlike any other candle making company. ReWax and UnWine provides an Ultimate Candle Making Experience! Picture yourself entering into a facility and immediately feeling the warmth, excitement and joy. Then being delighted by the abundance of vessels and scents that will peek your interest while listening to some upbeat music. Have you ever wanted to be a Mad Scientist, well that’s how you will feel while mixing your fragrances when creating your signature scents. After making your candles, you have the opportunity to indulge in karaoke or candle trivia. Did I mention, we are BYOB! Yes this is definitely a party atmosphere.

We offer a verity of events from Ultimate Candle Making Experience, Wine Down Wednesday, Romantic Date Night, Tipsy Yoga and Ladies Night Out. Our location also has a separate private room that is great for private events such as birthday parties, bridal showers, club events and Team Building Activities.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

After becoming a franchisee, I did not have the opportunity to have a site visit or the experience of making a candle. It was not until the week before my location opened that I actually got to have an Ultimate Candle Making Experience. My family and friends cannot believe that I would invest in a business, I had no experience in. I had a few friends to tell me they could believe it because it sounded like something I would do,

I was not going to let not having the experience to keep me from growing and enriching my life. I knew this would be a great opportunity for myself as well as my family,

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

Social media has been the best source of new clients thus far. I mainly use Facebook and Instagram and this is where the majority or my clients are finding out about my business. It is my goal to post around 3-6 times per week, to respond to DMs and reply to comments.
