Today we’d like to introduce you to Darnell Brown.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My path to being a Speed and Performance Coach was initially sparked through curiosity and my passion for problem solving. As an athlete who has participated in sports since a young kid, I’ve accumulated a lot of knowledge and found a passion in helping athletes, and weekend warrior alike. As a high school and collegiate athlete, I would find myself helping my teammates through injuries and helping them peak for their championship meet. As I got older, my thirst for knowledge increased, as well as my passion for problem solving and helping people. That set me on the path as a Speed and Performance Coach, where I have the privilege of helping athletes and weekend warrior reach their athletic and fitness goals.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No road worth traveling is smooth or easy; on the path to making my passion a profession, I’ve faced many challenges. The most notable challenge I’ve faced was navigating 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic. In an environment where meeting in groups to work out and exercise was outlawed in parts of the country, this had a negative effect on business and on the future success of clients who invested so much time into their craft. I was forced to comply, uncertain of how the year would turn out. Granted, COVID-19 was and still is a serious illness, so in that moment of ‘struggle,’ I was thankful that neither I nor my loved ones were directly impacted by the pandemic.
We’ve been impressed with Track Headz Training, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is called Track Headz Training, and we specialize in Speed and Performance training for youth, teen, and adult athletes. We help them improve in metrics of speed, strength, and biomechanics. At Track Headz, we incorporate Physics, Psychology, and Functional Training to enhance an athlete’s performance and decrease their likelihood of injury. I’m most proud of all the athletes we’ve been able to impact. We’ve always been open with our clients that statistically, not every athlete will be elite or professional—that’s the reality of sports. However, every athlete can learn the qualities necessary to become the best version of themselves and commit to daily improvement, for both the present and the future. Track Headz Training is a service-based company that offers Speed and Conditioning Training, Rehab and Nutrition services, as well as Weight Loss and General Fitness. We are passionate about helping our clients improve and making a significant impact in their chosen sport and the execution of their goals.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I appreciate every client I’ve ever had the opportunity to work with. I hope they have learned as much from what we do here at Track Headz Training as we have learned from them. If you’re looking to improve as an athlete, whether it be speed, strength, or something in your running stride is just a little ‘funky,’ connect with us and let’s see how we can help.
