We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Darlyne Alexandre a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Darlyne , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
I believe it takes practice, discipline and will power to achieve. Dedication is a must. Being successful is a goal to aim for in anything you do. As for me, I’m still learning. As we know the industry is always changing. Adapting to new things as they come your way. I wouldn’t say I’m fully successful but I can say I’m not too far. Everyday I’m aiming to make a difference in my work and business. Giving people an experience when hiring me. I’ve dedicate my heart and energy in every event I do, so to me that’s being successful. I let my work speak for itself.

Darlyne , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Darlyne Alexandre Daniel, and I am an Event planner, Interior Designer, Mother, and wife, who’s passionate about everything design related and doing my best to have the slightest impact I can on the planet. I was born in Brooklyn, New York but raised in Pennsylvania from early adolescence.
I studied at the Arts Institute of Philadelphia, then went on to the medical field. I’m a certified surgical tech who has an eye for design, how do you even mix the two. I kept longing to find my passion and ignored all the signs. I then earned a degree in early childhood education, then found myself still unsatisfied and asking what my calling was.
I have been educating myself on event planning and approaching interior design from an overall spatial perspective. I have learned so many things. I’ve been an event planner now for 7 years. It’s still a learning experience for me. I’ve done birthdays, communions, sweet sixteen’s, Babyshower & private dinners.
I hope to be the best designer I can be. Every day is a chance for improvement. There’s no reason we shouldn’t be taking that opportunity we have been given. So my only plan is to get better, Personally & professionally. I want my potential clients, followers and fans to know when hiring Pourquoi they are given an experience and a life time memory.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
I would have to say social media and word of mouth. However I still find it a struggle at times. When it comes to social media you have to post all the time to keep your page revalvent and Paying for promotion’s. Nonetheless word of mouth is also the biggest tool.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I would have to say providing my clients with top quality experience every time. Giving them a one of a kind event. Feed back is a must for me. It let me know how I can better myself. Presenting myself the way I want to be seen. Being aware of my body language. Consistency and above all act with Integrity.
