We were lucky to catch up with Darium Bingmon recently and have shared our conversation below.
Darium, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
At my lowest point, I experienced a pivotal milestone in my career. In the year of 2021, I found myself in college, majoring in the field of psychology ,but poorly attempting to apply the tools to my personal life. This is where I found myself worshiping and praying, asking God for signs for my life’s assignment: “Allow me to fulfill my mission in ways that uplift, inspire, and project your love from whatever my calling may be.
My best buddy Teria Davis directed me to both Luke 8 and Matthew 13, where I’ve analyzed “The Parable of the Sower.” In the chapter, Jesus described someone planting seeds in four different types of soil: hard path, rocky, thorny, and good soil. Aside from the hard path, every soil might produce a plant of some unique quality . That subsequently led to the name “SEED.db”; for me, seed signifies the tensions, questions, and uncertainties that we all have at times. However we must trust God to keep our vision safe in order for us to flourish. So, with that said, I wanted to introduce the grace of growth into the fashion industry.
I vow to use my brand “SEED.db” to advocate self-awareness, breaking cycles, establishing our own beauty as THE beauty standard; as seen in every abstract hue, the structure of each silhouette , onto the empowering flow of each garment. A look, is more than just an outfit it’s your heart on your sleeves. .
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
As a kid I’ve always been told I was fashion forward or “bougie” in my small country town of Saint Joseph , LA. Where fashion to them is a pair of western boots and Levi jeans . I’ve always had visions of contributing my gifts into the fashion industry where I always thought it would be a model , never an Image Consultant/Stylist. Today I’m grateful for my transition and allow my vision to flourish to the point the teenage Darium would pinch himself if he could see how his light has positively impacted his community, his character has bloomed & his craft has inspired.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
To me the most effective strategy for growing your clientele is to move in your purpose as if it’s your purpose . People appreciate and support individuals with drive and dedication to their crafts . It only leave room for building relationships & skill strengthening .
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
To me, the most successful technique for increasing your clientele is to act as if it is your goal. People value and support persons who are driven and dedicated to their professions. It only leaves room for relationship building and skill development. Don’t worry about followers and likes , those that are meant to witness your greatness are the ones whom deserve your services & energy.
