We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Daria Sanchez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Daria below.
Hi Daria, thanks for joining us today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
Learning to make resin art began with the inspiration I gained from watching videos of other artists making resin jewelry. Not knowing much, I ordered a resin kit and jumped right in to making rings and earrings. It doesn’t take long to realize that epoxy can be tricky to work with when you run into wet spots, air bubbles, etc.. I believe these mistakes are anyone’s rite of passage into becoming an expert on resin. With trial and error and a little bit of research, I learned how to avoid these mistakes.
The key to making beautiful resin art is patience. It will take failed attempts until you get it right, and there is always room for perfection. Often at our markets, I hear people say “I’ve tried making jewelry with resin, but I always got air bubbles” or “I always got wet spots”. If only they could see my failed attempts that never made it to our markets!
Currently, I am playing around with different types of resin as each has a benefit depending on the product. The exciting part to working with resin is the versatility I have to explore and play with different designs all while using pressed flowers.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Growing up, I was always attracted to drawing, painting, and creating. I never thought I would create jewelry, but I was quickly inspired to create beautiful items for others to enjoy once I got started. At first, I made simple jewelry like earrings and rings with glitter, but then I challenged myself to expand into making necklaces, bracelets, bookmarks, hair clips, coasters, and keychains. Finally after exploring for some time, I found my niche by combining my love for flowers with my resin work to create unique and timeless items.
Alongside my jewelry business, I recently began partnering with a wedding florist in DFW to preserve bridal bouquets. Because of the time I spent learning about and experimenting with resin, I get to help brides forever cherish their wedding flowers and hold on to the memory of their special day.
There are endless ways to perfect my craft. I could learn more about growing, preserving, and pressing my own flowers. It’s a wonderful way to challenge and express my creativity.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I believe that everyone is given a talent they can tap into for the world to see. My goal is to use the creativity God has given me to inspire others to see and appreciate beautiful things.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Seeing people light up when they see what I have created.
