We recently connected with Dareel Sco and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Dareel thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
One thing I learned while starting our business LuvFirst The Movement LLC is that dedication to a purpose makes it all worth while.
Our business idea started with me years before as I was using LuvFirst as a slogan during my early years as an independent artist. My goal was to create a new image for myself so that audiences would know what I was representing without any discrepancies.
As my slogan started to gain popularity I decided to turn my slogan into an actual brand and entertainment company by teaming up with likeminded individuals.
Once we put our minds and our money together we were able to form an LLC.
In my opinion individuals that are searching for a team need to look for individuals that are gifted in a certain areas. For example, I have three other partners that are part owners of our company. Each have specific attributes that fit what’s needed for our business to flourish.
I am a musical artist that specializes in marketing and mass communication. My partner Jamese Payne specializes in design for our merchandise as well as networking. My partner Tee specializes in business and business law and my partner Chaun is an actor specializing in outreach and fashion.
With all of our specialties combined we have made tremendous leaps and bounds throughout the past couple of years.
Dareel , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am an artist recording and performing my way through life. I am very passionate about my craft while my main focus is to inspire the listener by showing them that you can be original and cool at the same time.
I started my journey in the college dorms of Virginia State University. My journey started to take off once I consistently performed at every open mic session I could find from Virginia Beach to Richmond. Every night I was dedicated to showcasing my skills. That consistency is what sets me apart from others even 15 yrs later where we’ve made a lot of noise throughout the state of Virginia as well all around the world.
We provide our customers/fans hope. LuvFirst is showing everyone that Love and respect still exist in today’s society where at times, hate seems more prevalent.
Any advice for managing a team?
Meet and communicate regularly. At times we tend to slowly get sucked into our personal lives and careers.
We have agreed that no matter what either of us is going through we still need to come together and stay motivated. We treat LuvFirst The Movement LLC like a baby. We all know children need to be taken care no matter what the situation is in order for the baby to grow. That analogy works best for us during hard times that life deals.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Creating our live events have been the most effective strategy for growing our clientele. People show up and really get a feeling that you can’t find anywhere. We call our events “The LuvFirst Experience” where we focus on creating a comfortable environment and atmosphere for all who attend. Just recently we hosted “100 proof GOGO band” out of Charlottesville, VA, a Cornhole Tournament and a community fish fry all in the same location for all to enjoy. We had plenty of LuvFirst merchandise as well for our fans and supporters. They even got to see Dareel Sco (myself) perform some popular singles alongside the GOGO band which made it extra memorable for fans who attended.
