We were lucky to catch up with DaRealBandup recently and have shared our conversation below.

DaRealBandup, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.

It was around the time of graduating high school. I’ve always enjoyed listening to music that love for the art lead me to want to create my own. With a little push from some close friends I went ahead and started by posting snippets on Instagram and quickly earning some recognition for this. I went from that, to actually recording and uploading music to SoundCloud. I didn’t take it to much serious as I didn’t yet feel like I was much good. It was when I dropped my first video on YouTube that it all really started

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I’m a young artist out of Tampa Fl I represent the town n country area I started by creating Instagram snippets shortly after I then began to make music with my friends and we came together as a collective dubbing ourselves “TampaBayYoungins”. This group of friends, I consider family helped me expand my creativity and put me in position time in time to create better and better music. About a year and a half into rapping, I began to take it more serious and started experimenting with creating my own YouTube videos. I edited after another friend of mines recorded all the scenes and actually ended up posting 3-4 videos that went to accumulate over 10k plays on YouTube all together. This was shortly outlived as we came across a very talented cameraman who was also looking to take his art very seriously and this stepped up the content at all facets. Now at about two years and a half years making music seriously me and my friends have created something that’s more then just a name or a brand. It’s a way of life TBY is a label with all its rights in check. And we not only create music but we do our best to help the community and boost positivity with yearly school drives where backpacks with school supplies are given to those who need it. And helping occasionally give back to the homeless and hopes to spread more love in the city!

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

It’s all you! no ones opinion matters once you love what you create thats most rewarding of all. I make sure before I move forward in dropping any music I don’t worry bout nun else other then me enjoying it .. all else will fall in place

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

Consistency! that is key. I don’t have the biggest following as of right now with just over 3500 but it’s growing by the day. I’ve found 3-4 posts a week will give you a good flow of growth
