We were lucky to catch up with Darcy Perdue recently and have shared our conversation below.
Darcy, appreciate you joining us today. We love heartwarming stories – do you have a heartwarming story from your career to share?
When I first began practicing craniosacral therapy, I thought of it mainly as a way to help people with physical discomfort, conditions such as headaches, back tension, or jaw pain. One of my earliest clients, though, shifted my entire perspective.
They had come in for chronic jaw pain that had been bothering them for years. We worked together over a few sessions, and the pain began to ease. What they shared afterward is what really stayed with me. They told me they had become more patient with their children, that they felt calmer and more grounded in daily life, and that they’d even picked up painting again after years of not creating.
That was such a turning point for me. I realized this work isn’t only about releasing physical patterns. It can also open the door to deeper parts of someone’s life. Healing in the body can ripple out into relationships, creativity, and even how a person shows up in the world.
That experience still guides me today. It reminds me that what I offer is more than hands-on work. It’s the chance for someone to reconnect with who they really are beneath the stress and tension. Sometimes, the smallest shifts in a session can lead to the most profound transformations.
Ultimately, that’s why I do this work, not just to relieve discomfort, but to help people remember their wholeness, their resilience, and their capacity to live authentically with greater ease and joy

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Darcy Perdue, and I’m a craniosacral therapist, Reiki master, and massage therapist based in Reno, Nevada. My journey into this work was both personal and deeply transformative. Years ago, I discovered craniosacral therapy during my own search for healing, and the experience changed me. The gentleness of the work and the way it profoundly shifted my nervous system showed me that healing didn’t always have to come through force. It could come through subtlety, presence, and deep listening. I knew then that I wanted to learn this craft and eventually share it with others.
Today, I’ve built a practice where I bring together the best of both worlds: the grounded knowledge of anatomy and physiology with the intuitive, spiritual aspects of energy healing. I often describe my approach as a bridge between science and spirit. On one hand, I’m working with the body’s tissues, fascia, and nervous system in a way that’s very precise and rooted in the mechanics of health. On the other hand, I’m also holding space for what can’t be measured, energy, intuition, and the deeper wisdom that each client carries within them. This blending is where the magic happens.
In my sessions, I support babies, children, and adults who are navigating everything from stress and overwhelm to chronic pain, trauma patterns, and nervous system dysregulation. Many clients first come to me for something tangible, such as a headache, jaw tension, back pain, anxiety, or sleep issues. Often, while those things begin to ease, what really stands out are the unexpected ripple effects. People tell me they feel calmer with their families, more creative in their work, and more patient with themselves. Healing in the body opens up healing in life.
What I’m most proud of is creating a space where people feel deeply seen and safe, because I know that safety itself is healing. What sets me apart isn’t just the modalities I use, but the way I bring them together and the way I hold space. My role isn’t to “fix” anyone, but to support the body’s own capacity to heal and to gently guide people back to their wholeness.
What I’d love people to know about my work and my brand, Craniosacral Therapy Reno, is that healing doesn’t always come from doing more or pushing harder. Sometimes it comes from stillness, from listening, from subtle shifts that ripple into profound change. I believe that when science and spirituality meet, when the mechanics of the body align with the energy of the soul, we discover not just relief, but renewal. My deepest joy is helping people come home to that place within themselves where ease, resilience, and joy naturally live.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One of the biggest lessons in resilience for me came during a period when my business was starting to grow, but my personal life felt very uncertain. I had invested so much of my heart and energy into building my practice, but there were times when clients were scarce, bills piled up, and I wondered if I had made the wrong choice following this path. At the same time, I was moving through challenges in my relationships and facing the kind of self-doubt that can feel overwhelming.
What kept me going was returning again and again to the very principles I share with my clients. Regulation, presence, and trust. I leaned into my practices, gave myself permission to slow down and listen, and reminded myself that healing and building a business both happen in waves. Some days were about survival, others were about small breakthroughs, and over time, those moments of persistence added up.
There was one moment that stands out: I remember sitting in my quiet office after a client had left, realizing that despite all the uncertainty, I felt alive, aligned, and exactly where I was meant to be. That clarity gave me the resilience to keep going, and since then, my practice has grown into something steady and deeply fulfilling.
For me, resilience isn’t about never struggling. It’s about learning to root down in the storms, to trust your own inner compass, and to keep showing up with integrity. That’s what I bring to my work every day, not just techniques, but lived experience in finding strength in vulnerability and hope in uncertain times.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
What’s helped me build my reputation most is the way I combine professionalism with genuine care. Word of mouth has been huge in my practice. Clients often share with their friends and family not only that they felt better physically after our sessions, but also that they felt truly seen, safe, and cared for. That kind of trust doesn’t come from technique alone; it comes from the way I hold space and meet each person exactly where they are.
I’ve also found that consistency and integrity matter. I show up for my clients, I continue investing in my own education and wellness, and I stay rooted in the belief that healing is a partnership. Over time, that consistency builds reliability, and reliability builds reputation.
Finally, what sets me apart in my market is the way I bridge science and spirituality. People can feel that my approach is grounded in both anatomy and intuition, and that blend resonates. It’s not just about addressing symptoms. It’s about helping people reconnect with themselves on every level. That combination of results, compassion, and authenticity is what I believe has allowed my reputation to grow.
