We recently connected with Daphney Acevedo and have shared our conversation below.

Daphney, appreciate you joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

The story behind Auraliri is of two high school best friends that grew up in NYC, Daphney and Bri; who are striving to blend spirituality with technology ultimately bringing a metaphysical experience that is shown by their futuristic theme. It started off by Daphney finding herself after sometime feeling like something was missing from her life and that something was gifts and talents she had yet to discover about herself. In turn Daphney wanted to create not just a business but a sanctuary that allows people to find themselves, be themselves free of judgement or feeling like they have to do things like everyone else or stay up to date with the latest trend in order to fit in. Daphney always thought she’d become a psychologist and was almost about to graduate college when something in her decided not to. It just wasn’t enough, she wasn’t happy, she was slacking off in school, something she has never done in her life and she felt and wanted more and couldn’t help but feel like something from her life was missing. So she had a guardian angel experience, started having vivid dreams, that would later come to life, and decided to make page after getting off the phone with her bestfriend Bri and giving her spiritual insight which she then saw come to life. She was scared at first because she didn’t want to be judged and was afraid no one would support her but Bri gave her the push she needed. Daphney was never good at coming up with names so Bri asked her what her middle name was which is “Aliris” and there came “Auraliri”. So May 2021 Daphney made her instagram page and just started giving people the spiritual guidance and advice they needed to turn their life around and find themselves. But after sometime she knew this was bigger than just offering her insight. She wanted a physical space, store and to teach people. That’s where Bri comes in, she designs everything, deals with the backend and does website maintenance. But besides that she brings something else to the table and that’s the fun/implementation as well as professionalism within business. It’s not always about just knowing yourself, it’s also about implementing who you are, not being afraid to be yourself. Both Daphney and Bri excelling in their own paths that are different but similar and doing things the way that works for them within a shared business, inspired them to help others achieve the same. Also taking note that obstacles will arise, the journey will definitely be hard and you may want to give up, but don’t! It’ll all be worth it in the end. The mission behind Auraliri is to embrace change, embrace yourself, be confident in who you are, and not do things because you feel you’ll fit in more. Be yourself! Have fun. We are all different in our own ways and we want people to learn to embrace that, and teach them how to maintain it. We are all on unique journeys and we are each finding our way the best way we can. We are more than just a business selling products and services we are a movement, and an experience. We provide wisdom, knowledge and the ultimate spiritual enlightenment and hope to continue to inspire people to find that passion and love within themselves and within life, to ultimately make the world a better place. The more we embrace ourselves, the less we’ll pass judgement on others, and create more understanding and kindness with one another. I want everyone to feel what I felt when I finally understood my calling, what I’m meant to do in this lifetime and the joy that came over me when I finally found what I want to do for the rest of my life. I want to help others align with their destiny the way Bri & I have aligned with ours. Many say it is hard to run a business with friends while also maintaining boundaries and allowing each individual to excel in their specialties, but with healthy communication we have been able to make it work. Because we believe each individual has something to offer, something they excel in more than others, and our ultimate goal is to help people be able to align with that. We want to serve as testimony that no matter where you come from, no matter how bad things get in life, no matter how much you feel you are financially, mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually struggling, there is way out! So long as you put yourself and whoever/whatever you believe in first. Anything is possible if you put in the necessary work.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?

So it was back in high school of junior year and my best friend and I sat right next to each other in trigonometry. We both used to always take naps because we would be the first one’s done in class. Overtime we kept talking getting to know each other and realized we had a lot in common especially the one thing which was we were always misunderstood by people. We started to grow closer as time went by and managed to stay close throughout our separate college journeys. I never would’ve imagined that my trig nap buddy would become my best friend who in reality is now a sister to me. Fast forward to the most recent years after college, I started the Auraliri instagram page and she helped me design everything as she was working on her own business. After a while she realized she didn’t feel as passionate creating for others the way she did for Auraliri so I asked her to join as her expertise was needed. Here we are today still going strong and finally living in the same state as the majority of our friendship over the years after HS was strictly over the phone because we never lived in the same state until now.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

A time I had to pivot in business was back in summer of 2022. After a year of having the Auraliri instagram page, instagram decided to lock my account. The number on my account was an old phone number and in order to verify and get back in, I had to receive a code to that number. I honestly cried, I was frustrated and I couldn’t believe all the hard work I had done vanished before my eyes. I was very close to giving up and never doing this again but I knew this couldn’t be it. Once I finally calmed down I realized this was just god and the universe redirecting me. I had poured so much time into my business that I had forgotten about myself, I was so invested because it was my only source of income, my only means of survival. But if anything the month away from the account gave me great ideas, a new business plan and a new awareness of myself as I got to spend more time with me. We decided to start a new page as instagram was not allowing us to get back in to the old account so we had to change our username to “auralirihq”. Little did we know that Auraliri Headquarters would go super well with our newest rebrand of “Futuristic Spirituality”. So in the end as difficult and discouraged I was, it all worked out better than I thought. We are now transitioning into teaching, with the launch of our new inner child course and ebooks. Growing up Bri & I always took on the teacher role in our classes, and we are now moving into this role within business.
