We were lucky to catch up with Daphane Handy recently and have shared our conversation below.
Daphane, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
For me, business has never just been about making money—it’s about impact. My mission is to help people build their brand name online and create opportunities that elevate them beyond where they thought they could go. This mission is deeply personal because I know what it’s like to have a vision but not the resources, support, or knowledge to bring it to life.
In 2021, I almost lost my vision—literally. I was on the verge of going blind, and in that moment of uncertainty, God told me to fast and pray for healing. That experience shifted everything for me. It deepened my faith and made me realize that the same perseverance and trust I had in that moment is what I want to instill in others. I want to be the person who helps entrepreneurs, creatives, and business owners see beyond their limitations and step into their full potential.
Every business I’ve built—from the branding agency, and the online network, to personal development and faith-based initiatives—is rooted in that mission: helping people transform their stories into success. I don’t just want to help create brands; I want to help build legacies. And for me, that’s what makes my work meaningful.

Daphane, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Daphane Handy—a brand manager, business owner, and faith-driven entrepreneur dedicated to helping others build their name and presence online. My journey into branding and business development wasn’t traditional—it was born from resilience, passion, and a desire to create opportunities not just for myself, but for others.
I started out as young girl with a video camera trying to help her brother gain attention and fans for his music career. My filming skills later attracted other clientele. I continued into the digital space because I saw a need: countless talented people, businesses, and creatives had powerful stories and incredible products, but they struggled to position themselves effectively. I understood branding wasn’t just about logos and aesthetics; it was about perception, strategy, and the ability to connect with an audience in a way that drives real impact. That’s where I stepped in.
Through my brand management agency, I provide services that help entrepreneurs and businesses elevate their presence online—everything from branding strategies and content creation to social media growth, website development, and digital product launches. I help my clients package their expertise, streamline their brand messaging, and monetize their platforms in a way that attracts the right audience and opportunities.
What sets me apart? I genuinely care about my clients’ success, and I don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. I dive deep into their stories, strengths, and goals, crafting strategies that not only get results but also align with their purpose. I also operate from a place of faith—I know firsthand how trusting God through uncertainty can lead to incredible breakthroughs.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was perfectionism. For a long time, I felt like everything I created had to be flawless before I could share it with the world—whether it was a brand strategy, a piece of content, or even my own personal story. I thought success came from getting everything “just right,” but in reality, perfectionism was holding me back from truly connecting with people.
The turning point came when I realized that storytelling, even from a broken lens, is still powerful. To me, the most impactful stories are the ones that resonate, inspire, and create real change. They are not the polished and perfectly curated ones. They’re the raw, unfiltered moments of life, struggle, faith, and perseverance.
Now, I embrace the art of storytelling as it is, not as I think it “should” be. I encourage my clients to do the same because people connect with authenticity, not perfection. My work is no longer about making things look perfect—it’s about making them real.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Pivoting has been a recurring theme in my journey—both in business and in life. One of the biggest shifts I had to make was when I became a single mother. Everything changed overnight, and I had to quickly figure out how to provide stability while still pursuing my dreams. That meant adapting my business, becoming more strategic with my time, and learning how to balance ambition with the realities of motherhood. It wasn’t easy, but it taught me resilience, resourcefulness, and the power of trusting God and myself in every season.
Another major pivot happened in 2020, when the world shifted to digital due to Covid. At the time, I was heavily focused on videography and filming for my online streaming network, MTM Network, but like many others, I had to rethink everything when in-person productions became impossible. Instead of waiting for things to go back to normal, I embraced digital services, expanding my branding agency to help businesses and entrepreneurs navigate the new online landscape. That shift not only helped me stay afloat, but it also positioned me as a go-to resource for clients who needed to pivot themselves.
Both of these experiences reinforced something powerful: adaptability is everything. Success isn’t just about having a plan.
It’s about being willing to rewrite the plan when life demands it.
