We recently connected with Danyell Johnson and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Danyell thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
I was fresh off a plane from Atlanta Ga to Los Angeles California after abandonment by my new born child’s biological father. I had no money, no job, and no car. I had no idea what I was going to do, and despair began to overtake me. I wasn’t sure how me and my almost 2 month old newborn were going to survive. I never gave up Faith, despite all my challenges and attempts to fight The oppression that lingered so heavily over my head. I never gave up Faith and I always believe that I would overcome and I did. Who knew that going to a pool party would change my life from that moment on. I got the opportunity to go to a person of influences home for the summer in Malibu. It was a fabulous home with an exquisite view of the ocean with an overlooking of the infinity pool that rested so beautifully in the background. About my third morning there, I received the opportunity to make breakfast for everyone in the home. I quickly jumped to the task at hand and whipped up a five star spread within minutes. Little did I know that, that breakfast would open up a door of opportunity for me. It catapulted my career to all-time high as I received a referral to work with another person of influence who opened up a door for me to meet so many people. I thank God for that opportunity until this day. I never gave up. I never gave up hope. I took the risk with no idea of how things were going to turn out for me and I’m glad I did.
Danyell, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’ve always had a love for food. You can ask anyone that knows me. They know I love to eat. So it would only make sense that I would naturally gravitate to the preparation of the meals that I loved so faithfully. I attended the art Institute in Atlanta, Georgia, where I studied culinary arts. Most of my clients don’t have time to think about what they want to eat or have the time to prepare their meals so that’s where I come in. I Alleviate the stress of thinking of what a person is going to eat and the preparation of it.
The thing that I am most proud of is the way I make people feel, which is very happy. I think success is determined by how many people you affect in a positive way in the world and not by material gains. I think the one thing that I would want my fans or followers to know about my work is that I do everything with love understanding, and patience.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My ultimate goal is to lessen the amount of people in the world who go on day to day without proper sustenance. Every human on this earth deserves food to eat and clean water to drink.
How did you build your audience on social media?
My advice to anyone that is just starting to build their social media presence is to just be your self! The right people will gravitate towards you. The right crowd will gravitate towards you. Your tribe will find you. Always be authentic.
