We recently connected with Danteé Ramos and have shared our conversation below.
Danteé, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you have an agent or someone (or a team) that helps you secure opportunities and compensation for your creative work? How did you meet you, why did you decide to work with them, why do you think they decided to work with you?
I don’t have an agent. I’ve been told so many times that I should have one by now but, I don’t know where to even start. I think it should be organic and I want to trust that whoever represents me will be trustworthy.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Danteé Ramos is the dynamic force at the intersection of journalism, pop culture, and storytelling. A native New Yorker with roots in New Jersey, Danteé proudly identifies as a Black and Salvadorian multi-hyphenated journalist.
With a passion for capturing the essence of pop culture, Danteé is a seasoned journalist with a knack for uncovering stories that resonate deeply with audiences. Her extensive career includes collaborating with renowned media outlets and interviewing some of the entertainment industry’s most prominent figures, including Nas, Run DMC, Spike Lee, Issa Rae, Kevin Hart, Jake Gyllenhaal, Yahya Abdul-Mateen, and many more.
Danteé’s journalism odyssey commenced at Source Magazine, where she honed her writing skills, delivering daily reports that kept readers abreast of the latest news and insights. From red carpets at the VMA’s and BET Hip Hop Awards to the BET HER Awards, Danteé engaged with celebrities, delving into their experiences.
Recently, she graced the screens as an On-Air host for MTV News on the show “Need To Know,” where she reported on trending pop news and cultural topics. Her charismatic presence and ability to connect with audiences shone brightly on the MTV News LIVE Grammy After show, attracting over 300k views. Danteé’s versatility extends to the big screen, with a movie review credit on Paramount’s Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.
Beyond her media roles, Danteé is the creative mind behind the personal brand ‘DanteesInferno.’ This brand has seamlessly collaborated with esteemed names such as Nissan, Nike, OGX, Cantu, Sally Beauty, ApHogee, Touch Wearables, and The American Cancer Fund. Danteé’s goal is clear: to continuously illuminate the richness of Black and Latine culture through diverse projects, roles, and vital conversations.
Outside of journalism, Danteé played “Geraldine” on Prime Video’s short film “Civic Mind.”
I also am a mental health advocate after being diagnosed with manic depression in 2023. I want to break the stigma around what ppl with bipolar look like. I have hosted and moderated panels for several brands. I also have my own small business called Hybrid Host Workshop which I co-founded with my partner Zayna Allen. www.HyrbridHostWorkshop.com has all you need to know as well as my personal site www.danteesinferno.com
I want people to know that I am a relatable woman who is chasing her dreams, what sets me a part from everyone in my industry is my vulnerability and comfortability with who I am. I don’t care to be in the “in-crowd,” I want my work to speak for me. I want whats inside my heart to be the leading factor of why people look up to me. I am here to share my story in hopes that someone will feel seen, heard, understood but most of all inspired to step into action for their dreams.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I show resilience every day. Living with manic depression is not easy at all, it’s an extra job to tend to. Resilience is how you choose to walk through the valley to reach the light. I tend to want to give up because my brain will tell me negative things but I have to keep going. I just have to. I also show resilience in my career. My career is continually up and down, with no clear destination and yet I show up daily hopeful, creative, and open to any positive possibility that comes my way.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I always say my WHY is my family but in terms of my creative journey, I think its more of an outlet for me. it gives me something to do than be lost in my mind and I genuinely have so much fun getting into my creative bag. I also love touching ppl through conversation. I’ve always been told I am a “light,” and I like to believe that people feel seen, heard, and uplifted by me.
