We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dante Chak a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Dante, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?
My parents gave me a lot of freedom growing up. Always encouraging me to chase my dreams, learn through my own trial and error, and supported me in dark times. When I told my mother I was going to travel full time as a content creator she was worried I might become a “starving artist”, and for the most part she was correct haha. But she never allowed me to give up on myself and helped me to realize my dreams can become reality through discipline and perseverance.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My business is broad and entails many different things ranging from media consulting to full-scale productions based on advertising and marketing by way of film and photography. Working with various brands, studios, and many businesses to reach full potential by content production. When I’m not doing that, I also travel and earn as a skydiver. Often I will travel to various drop zone airports around the world, skydiving whilst creating my own extreme sports content, and pack parachutes for monetary compensation— one of the best hustles I’ve ever had.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
My audience is still growing. I am always working and collaborating with people who have like-minded interests and goals as me which helps me to grow on socials. Travel and extreme sports content is largely what I like to create. Taking a step back to realize that social media is very curated and over saturated with millions of people in the same niche can be discouraging as it seems near impossible to be original these days. But there’s only one of you, and your authenticity is your brand.
We’d love to hear about you met your business partner.
My business partner also happens to be my manager and basically my life coach— John Chea, my best friend since I was 14. A lot of my ideas would never have came to fruition if not for him helping me to capitalize on opportunities. John has single-handedly helped me to pave the way to achieve a lot of the successes for all my ventures. My success is very much his as well.
