We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Danquin May a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Danquin , thanks for joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

When I decided to make that transition into becoming a life coach is when I realized that making a difference was my number one goal. Growing up I always was the go to person, the person who always gave advice, and even the person that people brought their secrets to. I enjoyed seeing the growth of others and really loved being apart of it. If I think about it, I really been a life coach my whole entire life!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Growing up in California, I have always had a passion for the youth and young adults. In 2012, I moved to Atlanta to push my career in the arts and my love for the community grew stronger. My heart for the youth became so strong that I decided to create a youth talk show called Ask Dq Tv. I wanted to be able to give the youth a voice while allowing them to express themselves in their own way.

While working in the community, I also worked in the financial industry for over 7 years. In my field I realized that a person finances has a big impact on their personal life vice versa. Finances is a big part of healthy relationships, successful businesses, and achieving the proper balance. Realizing this while helping clients get out of financial debt, I helped them get out of emotional debt as well.

In all that I’ve done for the community, I realized that making a difference was my number one goal in life no matter what I was doing. Later in 2020 I decided to take a leap of faith by turning my natural attributes into a thriving business by starting my life coaching practice!

Some of the problems that I solve for my clients is how to use their past obstacles as fuel for each chapter of their lives. I provide one on one sessions, group sessions, and mentorship programs.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

The best source for me in gaining new clients is through instagram. Social media for me has been amazing for business. The secret is making sure your bio is on point and easily searchable.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

Even though I’m continuously building my audience on social media, the key thing is to stay consistent and focus on your brand and your audience. Cater to your audience because they obviously followed you for a reason. It’s ok to follow a trend or two, but don’t get so caught up in them. Do you!
