We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Danni Hamilton. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Danni below.
Hi Danni, thanks for joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
After I graduated from Naturopathic Medical School in Arizona, I moved back to Michigan to be near family. The Naturopathic Medical Community in Michigan is very small and seems nonexistent at times as opposed to enormous and supportive community in Arizona. When I first moved here, I had many job offers and some of them were beyond my expectations and met most of my career goals. But that was not my dream. My dream was to start my own business although I had practically zero knowledge when it came to business. I took a big risk by spending all my time setting up my business, Dimensional Wellness Center, and since it took most of time, I was unable to make much money. As soon as I launched my services to clients (Naturopathic Care for Endocrine-Related Disorders), my business immediately took off. Each day is a work in progress but I believe my level of care, heart, and determination to help others while building my own dream has been the best risk I could have ever taken.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Danni Hamilton, and I am a licensed Naturopathic Medical Doctor (NMD) in the State of Arizona currently residing in the State of Michigan, where my business is located- Dimensional Wellness Center LLC. Before medical school, I resided in Fort Wayne, Indiana where I completed an Associate of Science in Chemistry and Pre-Pharmacy from Saint Francis University and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Purdue University. I originally planned to become a pharmacist and worked as a pharmacy technician in retail, long-term care, and hospital pharmacies with additional experience in sterile and non-sterile compounding. I also worked as adjunct faculty in multiple technical colleges teaching 8 different pharmacology classes. As I educated myself over time, I realized that my passion was no longer in pharmacology but in the innate ability for the body to heal itself. During my free time I spent countless hours figuring out a way how to help patients attain optimal health using alternative methods. I began to teach myself about Naturopathic Medicine from The Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine by Murray and Pizzorno and realized I could obtain a medical degree as a Naturopathic Doctor which aligned with my passion and dreams to teach others the benefits of healing naturally. I have been fascinated with the science behind holistic health since childhood and the changes in my career path began immediately after falling upon a Naturopathic Medical School, that I never knew existed. Now here I am, with the goal to help as many people as possible!
Currently, I help men and women with endocrine-related disorders (thyroid, diabetes, PCOS, adrenal, menopause, etc..) begin to heal naturally. I work in conjunction with their primary care physician to help the client meet their health goals in the most effective, yet safe way. Instead of “treating” a condition, I look for the ROOT CAUSE of their symptoms. Appointments are extremely thorough and blood work/specialty testing is extraordinarily comprehensive. We work together to establish the basic foundations of health while simultaneously balancing the endocrine system to return energy, vitality, strength, clarity, and hormonal stability back into their life by using the Healing Power of Nature.
I provided in-office appointments in Saint Clair Shores, MI OR virtual appointments (equally as effective). At the first appointment I take a thorough history, educate the client on their past medical experiences with other practitioners, and examine past and current lab results/imaging. With in depth research on the case, I make appropriate referrals and provide education on diet, lifestyle, emotional well-being, herbal medicine, nutrients, and homeopathy.
I truly believe that Naturopathic Medicine will soon be the forefront of healthcare! I am proud of the results I see with my clients and dream to have my services available to as many people I can reach!

If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
If I could go back, I would choose to be a Naturopathic Doctor over and over again. Unfortunately, there are only 5 Accredited Naturopathic Medical Colleges in the United States. Since this type of schooling is limited, finding its existence was difficult. I wish I could go back in time and know that it existed sooner. I do not regret my experience in pharmacology as it has given me an unparalleled advantage amongst other Naturopathic Doctors and currently helps me better serve my patients. Although, if I would have started my journey sooner, that portion of my life would have felt more purposeful because deep down becoming a pharmacist didn’t sit well with me. Unfortunately, with Naturopathic Medicine, it is not covered by insurance, therefore not as accessible to many individuals. It is also not offered as often in hospital settings. Not all states are licensed in Naturopathic Medicine. These downfalls are the only reasons I would potentially choose a different path but would have 1000% still set out to have a profession using Natural & Holistic Modalities to help others.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
In 2020, where many disasters began, I was in my 3rd year of Naturopathic Medical School preparing for my 2-Day Objective Structured Clinical Exam (OSCE) which allows students to gain access to the clinics by proving their readiness to care for patients. Two weeks before the exam my entire apartment building burned down due to an electrical maintenance fire.
I lost everything.
Fortunately, I was able to save my pet, phone, and laptop. But I no longer had clothes, schoolbooks, school notes, a toothbrush, memories/art/keepsakes since childhood, or a home. I wasn’t even able to attempt to salvage anything at all for about 6 months post-fire. Even then, there wasn’t much left.
Even with this devastating life event with constant panic and worry, and along with the stress of the OSCE exam coming up, my devotion and passion to my schooling did not waver. I passed my exams and did not fall behind, and still sometimes wonder how I did it.
