We were lucky to catch up with Danitzia Singh recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Danitzia, thanks for joining us today. How do you think about vacations as a business owner? Do you take them and if so, how? If you don’t, why not?
Absolutely! I have two children who have become quite the little travelers. We have the Disney Magic Key so we are often flying from Sacramento to Southern California to visit Disneyland. Last year we went a total of eight times so the kids have become Disney experts! In the past, we have traveled to Hawaii and Cancun, Mexico with the kiddos. Before we had children, my husband and I traveled outside of the country. My favorite vacation together was when we went to Brazil for the World Cup in 2014. We also went to Russia to see the World Cup Final when France beat Croatia! The food in Moscow, Russia was the best food I have ever had! While we were in Europe, we spent some time in Mallorca, Spain which reminded me a lot of Hawaii.

Danitzia, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I became a content creator because it opened up opportunities for myself to work and create a brand of my own. I pursued it as part-time work so that it allowed me to have time for other career moves I wanted to make for myself. Creating content for brands that I love is truly a blessing. This job allows me to have full creative freedom while being my own boss. I have met many wonderful people through this job and have expanded my network.
Aside from being a content creator, I also help my friends and family sell and buy real estate in the Sacramento area. This is fun for me because I love seeing all the growth in Sacramento and seeing how the market changes over time. Having lived in Sacramento my entire life, I find this job to be exciting!
My true passion lies in the classroom. However, I am not currently teaching and gave myself a break from this is 2021 when the pandemic still felt mentally heavy. I do see myself going back to teaching as this is truly what makes me the happiest!
I am most proud of the community that I have created for not only myself, but for my children as well.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I first created my Instagram account back in 2010. I was in college at this time and I used it for fun. I would often upload photos of food, some selfies, coffee mugs, etc. It wasn’t until about 2017 that I started truly focusing on putting more intention behind my posts and captions, and that is when I changed my handle to @themomtessorilife. At this time in my life, I owned a Montessori preschool and I would often upload tips and activities that were Montessori-inspired and after doing this consistently, my following kind of took off, especially in at the beginning of the pandemic when parents were looking for activities to keep their little ones busy. My advice to those just starting is to find your niche and be yourself when posting on your platform. I think those that show their true authentic selves are more likely to grow on social media. When we show our authentic selves, we often find many others that can relate to our story.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a content creator is that not only do I get to be creative with my work, but my family does also! I cant tell you how many times my children have had wonderful ideas that sparked creativity in me and made the collaboration, blog, and photos THAT much better! The possibilities are endless and having this job allows my children to see that and practice it too. I want them to also feel that their input and thoughts are valuable in my work.
