We were lucky to catch up with Danil Pervukhin recently and have shared our conversation below.
Danil, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. I’m sure there have been days where the challenges of being an artist or creative force you to think about what it would be like to just have a regular job. When’s the last time you felt that way? Did you have any insights from the experience?
I am very grateful I get to work in the field I love. Creating stories every day genuinely make me happy and bring joy to my life. I feel elevated and motivated I have a community of filmmakers I can rely on and create with. It has been a blessing to be able to turn my very close friends into same-minded business partners, who help me be a better filmmaker and a person every day.
Danil, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Less than 4 years ago I had no idea what my passions are. I was exploring the film industry and quickly fell in love with filmmaking. I have tried multiple occupations in my life but nothing made me fell more happy than getting to tell stories with the similar minded people.
Fast forward to summer of 2023. Two of my close friends and I have started the film equipment rental studio called PYX Studios. It feels great to be able to provide local filmmakers with gear, crew and other resources to help it stay creative. we are currently looking for innovations and expanding our community through doing what we love most.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a filmmaker is helping people make their small dreams come true. Nothing feels better than seeing the faces of the audience light up after the projects are completed. It is not only rewarding for having your work appreciated, but also seeing my peers get the recognition they deserve.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Form times to times it is very hard to survive as an artist. The majority of us cannot devote all of our time towards our creative journeys, having to balance it out with other full-time jobs. It is a constant gamble whether you will get success, recognition and financial stability, We are fully dependent on the audience that is willing to support their favorite artists. The best way the society can help the creatives is to show appreciation. by supporting artists in their endeavors or just simply showing up!
