We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Danielle Winters a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Danielle, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?

I am most definitely happier as a business owner! I have had ‘regular jobs’ and whilst they do have their positives like – consistent income and making it easier to apply for things such as a rental or loan, I’d still rather be a business owner. I found it frustrating when employed that my ability to grow and expand was in the control of my manager/s or boss/es, the politics that some workplaces have is also not the best either.
Whilst being a business owner has it’s own challenges as ultimately you are the one responsible for it’s success, the joy and flexibility it offers can’t compare to a ‘regular job’.
Taking an idea from a concept to a physical business operation is such an amazing journey, but you definitely have to be prepared to put in the work. However once you do, and you have a concept that resonates with a lot of people then realizing that what you have created is valued is super rewarding!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

My name is Danielle & I am currently a professional aura photographer and intuitive reader, I founded my business Hollywood Aura after being reconnected with aura photography by a friend. I have a Bachelor Of Fine Arts with a Major in Photography so I have really come full circle with my arts. I grew up with an interest and awareness of the law of attraction, energy fields, holistic healing arts etc and I had had my 1st aura photo at about 14 years of age.
I wish that I had have been doing this my whole life as I absolutely love it. It blends the scientific with the metaphysical, allowing me to look at actual data and combining that with the spiritual.
Aura Photography provides deep insights into your energetic wellbeing and who you are, I am always excited work with new clients who have never had an aura photo before and those who don’t know much about energy, as they always leave their experience with me wowed at the insights provided.

I can assist clients in understanding who they are better, provide targeted practices that will help them improve their energy systems and lives and connect them with the awareness of their energy. I provide aura photos with intuitive aura color readings, along with an in-depth report that deep dives into your entire energy system including your chakras. As I have a digital system I see the aura and chakras live in real time, whereas the polaroid aura photography doesn’t know the result until the photo develops; this provides me with the advantage of seeing if you need extra time to settle your energies to get a more accurate reading.

You can do your aura photo alone or have a combined one with another person or your pet! I regularly see clients on their birthdays and now have a birthday package for those who would like to have an aura birthday party session.

I can also come to events as my aura photography equipment is mobile. I regularly do private events, birthday celebrations, weddings, brand activations, corporate events, corporate wellness, Xmas Parties, conferences, trade shows etc. Any size and type of event is doable.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

I am still in the process of developing this to the level I would like to be at, however, so far being out at events, markets etc as a vendor has really worked wonders for me. It allows me to expand awareness of what I do and that it exists, and going to different areas I get to connect with a broad range of people. Of course I am able to do this in my field, but even when I was a restauranteur we advertised to get awareness.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

Being more flexible and loosening my grip on control. Just like my clients I am also a work in progress – growing and healing. I am in the more physical chakra for my personality aura color so I tend to take things a little more seriously by nature. I have been learning to trust more in letting go and allowing. A lot of this growth and change has been a direct result of what I have learnt when gaining education on energy, chakras and auras. And I am thankful for it. Everything is about balance though so I know that these qualities are valuable, and it’s more about balancing when they are activated then trying to erase it completely.
As people we should embrace all aspects of ourselves, and know that we all possess all behavioral qualities so then we can be less judgmental on ourselves and others.
