Danielle, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How do you think about vacations as a business owner? Do you take them and if so, how? If you don’t, why not?

As much as possible! Exploring the world is a form of self-care for me. It enables me to relax to leave any worry behind and I also gain a lot of inspiration.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I design high quality, confidence boosting swimwear in sizes 2-20. I design styles that flatter and accentuate all of your assets, no matter what size you are.

My collections are inspired by my travels to over 20 countries. My first collection, Xaymaca, is a tribute to Jamaica and encompasses the inspiration I received from my 14 visits there.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

I worked two 9-5 remote jobs to fund my idea. I invested $12k and I would do it over and over again.

We’d love to hear your thoughts about selling platforms like Amazon/Etsy vs selling on your own site.

My website is on Shopify’s platform which was the best option as far as being user friendly, reporting options and financially. I also sell on Etsy and I offer wholesale on Faire. My pieces are currently sold in 4 boutiques.
