Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Danielle Wilcox. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Danielle, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Almost every entrepreneur we know has considered donating a portion of their sales to an organization or cause – how did you make the decision of whether to donate? We’d love to hear the backstory if you’re open to sharing the details.
Yes, I donate 10% of my profits to a non-profit organization that helps women and children affected by domestic violence. As a domestic violence survivor I wanted to be able to give back through my company to help those who are once where I was. It’s extremely difficult to leave your abuser. More often than not women leave with nothing or close to nothing and have to rebuild their entire life. The funds that I donate are being used to help provide resources to aid these women and families in rebuilding a healthy and safe life.

Danielle, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Naturally Created 4 You was founded out of my own personal need. I was struggling to grow my brows and lashes at the start of Covid. I was very familiar with DIY skin and hair care recipes on youtube. Most of the growth oils sold are not made with clean ingredients. I did some research and decided to make my own growth oil. A thought came to mind to take this seriously so I wrote everything down in case it worked. I started taking before and after pictures and within a week I noticed growth. I contacted my family and friends and asked to send them samples. They agreed and they also noticed results. I was so excited because I had been praying for several years for a business idea that suited me and I finally had one.
My company specializes in natural skin care. I offer a range of products from face care, body care, intimate care and even a hair growth oil. We take a less is more approach. I have found that many people struggle to find products that work for their skin. They go online and search for trending products, but skin care is not a one size fits all approach. When the products don’t work they get discouraged and have difficult restarting the process. My products are formulated with simple ingredients and I don’t add anything that does not provide a benefit to the skin. This approach makes it much easier to discover what ingredients your skin needs to thrive and helps my customers focus more on using products with those specific ingredients.
Naturally Created 4 You is a Christian skin care business. Our mission is to spread God’s goodness through our natural skin care. It’s been amazing to see the work God is doing through NC4Y in helping people in need as well as helping those in their faith journey.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
When I launched my business I used Instagram to build my community. There are three things that I believe helped me not only make sales but build a community that loves my brand. I want to start by saying that I started with zero followers. I had very little knowledge of instagram in 2020, or how social media really worked. All I had ever done was make personal posts and comment on other posts. A lot has changed over the past few years, but these things are still very relevant for anyone growing an account on social media.
I started by posting daily and I rarely missed when I was getting started. People want to see consistency and know that you are serious about your brand. They want to see quality content. When I look back the quality was horrible, but it was valuable. I used what I had and what I knew. I didn’t not post because of this or that. I posted nearly every day and I just got better. I learned what worked and what didn’t. My audience saw the elevation and I shared my milestones with them. I made them a part of the story I was writing.
I didn’t do this right away but I eventually learned that you have to be true to yourself. It’s easy to go online and look at what everyone else is doing and try to replicate that. That is not going to help you. What helps you and your brand stand a part is authenticity. You have to stay true to yourself and your company. This comes from having a deep understanding of your brand mission and values. Once I took a step back to really do some brand soul searching, it became much easier to create content and the content drew my target audience.
I posted content that would help people. In business we can be solely focused on making sales but I think that can deter people. If all you post is content that asks people to buy, instead of trying to help them, it can send the wrong message. Finding ways that your page can bring value other than the products you sell goes a long way in establishing trust and community.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
Two ways I keep in touch with customers and foster brand loyalty is through social media and email marketing.
I show up online on a regular basis and I am very responsive to comments and messages. My customers know that I am active and don’t have to worry about me going MIA for multiple weeks. I set the expectation that they are going to see my content by showing them my consistency. I also send voice notes to them to add a personal touch instead of a quick text reply.
Every week I send my email subscribers an email unrelated to products. It literally has nothing to do with skin care. It’s called morning inspo and it’s a weekly email I send that is personally from me. I share a recent testimony, struggle or a word of encouragement to help them. It’s been amazing to see how God has been working through those emails. My customers look forward to receiving my emails and it shares a core value of my company.
