We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Danielle Talamantez a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Danielle , thanks for joining us today. Can you tell us about a time where you or your team really helped a customer get an amazing result?

I struggled with acne as a teen and into my early 20s. I remember I spent so much money going from dermatologist to dermatologist and aesthetician to aesthetician trying to find someone who could help me clear my skin. I can’t tell you how much money I wasted for years and years. Acne is very misunderstood in our industry. We are taught to burn it, peel it off, ect. I fell in love with spas and facials so I decided to be an esthetician. Everything I learned in school made my skin worse. I then went through the oncology program and learned about healing the skin and repairing the barrier. I thought if this works with patients with much more compromised skin from chemotherapy and radiation this should work with acne. And what do you know when I started repairing my barrier instead of causing inflammation to it with acids, retinols, peels and products alike, my skin became clear ! I started implementing this protocol with my clients and I have helped hundreds of clients achieve clear skin. My favorite client success story is actually a recent one. My dear client came in for a facial. She was a very severe case of acne with scarring(that we will work on next) and large painful pustules. I could tell she felt hopeless about her skin. I started talking about what we could do to start her healing process and I remember she looked at me shocked. I remember her saying “everyone has always told me they can’t help me with my acne”. My heart broke for her but also I was so happy because I knew I could. Her painful pustules were gone in 3 weeks. I remember her sending me weekly photo updates being so excited for her skins healing process. She came in for one of her facials and said “it doesn’t hurt anymore and everyone is telling me my skin looks so good, I’m so happy I found you.”. It’s moments like these when I can make my clients feel so good and beautiful in their skin and help them heal that make me feel like I have a purpose. I love what I do and I love healing all skin types but acne has a soft spot in my heart since I know how it feels. I always look forward to helping my clients and we always become like best friends and family. I love working with every single one. I am so passionate about what I do and how I can help change they way someone feels and looks and themselves for the better.

Danielle , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I do feel like i covered a lot of this in my success story. But I started in my early 20s. I wanted to heal my own acne and others and the industries protocols for acne were making my skin worse. I became obsessed with healing the barrier and non inflammatory Products and protocols. My skin and my clients skin never looked better! Our skin is our biggest organ on our body and very fragile. The industry is taught to peel it, inject it with poison, burn it. Basically use very inflammatory protocols and products. Would we use this approach with any other organs in our body? No. We have to treat the skin like the inside of our body. Do anti inflammatory procedures and repair the barrier instead of causing further damage for quick results.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

Healing skin. My favorite is when clients come in and tell me their friend or family remember came to me and I healed whatever issue they had going on with their skin and I really knew what I was doing. Helping others feel beautiful in a healthy way gives me such a confidence in myself and makes me feel that I have a purpose.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?

I never stop working, my phone is always on. I always respond right away. My clients are my family and friends. If they need something I’m there for them. I even have clients text me and ask me what to use on their skin when they are on vacation and they’re skin is reacting to something and what should they do. I love that my clients trust me and know I will be there for them and I look forward to seeing them at every appointment. It’s a beautiful bond. I’m very lucky.
