We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Danielle T. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Danielle below.
Danielle , appreciate you joining us today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
One of the many things my mother did right was instilling that ‘go for all your dreams and goals’ gene. My mother, who is one of my best friends, always made sure to allow me to be me. She worried ALOT but always trusted me to make the best decisions for myself and taught me how to listen to my heart (as well as my head).
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Well I am a model with a mind and mouth! My first true love is acting but through that I fell in love with modeling. Through my shoots I like to tell stories or bring awareness to something that matters to me most, being a beautiful black woman! I’m also a Crohn’s warrior and enjoy teaching my community about the illness and importance of keeping your gut healthy. Use the beauty to get ya, then the rest, is history.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Becoming a new mom as a model was a huge pivot/turn for me. Having a new body also gave me a new mindset. At first, I was scared to even come back to the “scene” but once I realized I have now reached a new level in femininity (in life tbh) that was the lighter needed to reignite the flame! So, moral of the story, whenever life gives you twists and turns, go with the flow, turn and twist with it.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My goal overall is to educate. Always. Whether it’s educating people about chronic illness or educating Black women and children about our beauty and strength. Whatever it may be, education is key. Knowledge is key. And if I can be any help towards that, I’ve done my part.
