We recently connected with Danielle Roy and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Danielle, thanks for joining us today. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?
I am the happiest I’ve ever been working for myself!! Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to have the consistency of a 9-5, but then I realize that I can have that schedule AND still work for myself. It’s a risk, and definitely takes times to build but it’s been so worthwhile!! Especially seeing my schedule become a bit more stable.
Danielle, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m the owner of Hair X Dani! I have my own salon suite specializing in balayage and extensions! I’ve been licensed for 6 years and am so proud of the experience I’ve created for my clients to come and relax!! Whether they want to vent or just need some quiet time, I love being their getaway from life for a few hours! You don’t just get a hairstylist when you come to my salon, you get a friend, always.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I still have such a long ways to go on building my social media audience! But consistency has been the key!! Creating content and taking the time to get videos or different angles of pictures. With all of that you can choose one to post for that day and when you are in your slower weeks you can use those old videos to create new content! I had to learn to really take the time to showcase my work!!
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Keeping a relationship and interacting with your clients is a must! These are people you spend hours with, and spend some of their most special events with. They really do become your friends and just keeping true to those relationships is what keeps people coming back!
