We recently connected with Danielle Pittmon and have shared our conversation below.
Danielle, appreciate you joining us today. We love asking folks what they would do differently if they were starting today – how they would speed up the process, etc. We’d love to hear how you would set everything up if you were to start from step 1 today
If I were starting all over today I would definitely go harder than I was going before. I would practice more and I would speak positivity into my business. I feel like I would be more ahead than I am right now if I just kept being consistent. Consistency is key. Sometimes it becomes a bit overwhelming running a business and going to school full time but I know if I stay consistent all of this hard work won’t be for nothing.
Danielle, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a 19 year old beauty service provider. I took interest in doing hair at age of 12 and as I got older I started to have different phases of what I like to do. First it was hair then it was nails and then I got into makeup. I didn’t get into lashes until I was 16. I started to practice and then I decided to get my certification for lash extensions. I started my business at 17 during my junior year of high school. Ever since I graduated I’ve been consistent with my business and it grows everyday. Everytime I have free time I’m either working on a reel or a post on canva. I use vavalash and T-Dance professional luxury lash. I do lash extensions, makeup, loc retwists, wig installs and wig revitalization. I help my clients find a comfortable lash home or a place to get their hair and makeup done in a peaceful environment. Some of my lash clients tell me that they’ve had a few bad experiences with other lash technicians and that’s why I try my best to make sure they have a smooth and easy experience when they come to me for their service. I’m mostly proud of my growth and how far I’ve come from the beginning with the quality of my work and content. I want my clients to know that I’m a easy person to talk to , to be around and to deal with. I am polite and understanding. My suite is a judge free zone. You can come and vent to me during your service or you can take a nap and I won’t wake you unless I have a request.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source for new clients for me has been instagram lately. People either respond to my available times that I post for that day or they come across a reel and follow my page. They eventually end up booking a couple days later.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
After I got into practicing lash extensions I decided to take a lash class. My aunt paid for it but I used whatever money I could collect from doing hair to fund my lash business. My mom helped fill in the gaps.
