Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Danielle Nakeia. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Danielle, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
Career wise I was trying to find that one thing I was passionate about while working a dead end job! Once finding that passion, I wouldn’t say it was too late, but I do wish I would’ve made the decision or found the passion I had business wise sooner!
If I could turn the hands of time I’d definitely would’ve started my business years earlier. Only because when you niche down, in today’s time as a freelancer it’s a bit saturated with people doing the same business. A few years ago, I would’ve been able to gain a lot more clientele because a lot of people weren’t freelancers or they specialized in things that weren’t geared towards social media, it was all new and fresh! But because things have advanced and changed, so did the market for freelancers.
Danielle, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Danielle, an Orlando based freelance designer specializing in custom projects including | logo creation, video editing, social media design/management, social media/resume revamp, marketing ideas, and much more… I call myself a digital clairvoyant, but I also provide business branding consultation services.
It’s major to note that I’m not the average freelance designer/developer. I enjoy working on unique and interesting projects, that include your ideas! I bring those same ideas you want for your business a creative reality, I treat my work seriously and prefer to work with clients who are serious about results and the direction they want to take their business.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Honestly my social media audience is still growing!
However, I’ve been successfully growing on social media. I took a multifaceted approach., by defining my target audience, delving into demographics, interests, and online behaviors. I tailored my content to resonate with my audience, offering value, entertainment, or solutions to their needs. Consistency is key; and by maintaining a branding strategy across all platforms, from visual elements to messaging tone. I actively engage with my audience by responding to comments, asking questions, and participating in relevant conversations. I also leverage the power of hashtags to increase discoverability, ensuring my content reaches beyond my immediate followers. I also, analyze social media analytics regularly to understand what resonates with my audience and adjust my strategy accordingly. Lastly, patience is key; growing authentically takes time, so I stay committed to my long-term goals while adapting to evolving trends and algorithms.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Networking has been pivotal in helping me reach new clients, fostering connections that can significantly impact business growth. By actively engaging in industry events, conferences, and online communities, I’ve created opportunities to showcase my expertise and build relationships. These connections often lead to referrals and recommendations, establishing a trust factor that is crucial in client acquisition. Through networking, the power of word-of-mouth marketing has helped as well, my satisfied clients recommend services to their own networks.
Personal connections during networking events often result in a deeper understanding of potential clients’ needs and challenges, allowing for a more tailored approach in pitching my services. Also, in my opinion, networking provides a platform for staying informed about industry trends and market demands, enabling professionals to position themselves as solutions providers. In essence, the collaborative nature of networking not only widens one’s professional circle but also serves as a fertile ground for cultivating meaningful client relationships.
