We recently connected with Danielle Matthews and have shared our conversation below.
Danielle, appreciate you joining us today. Has Covid resulted in any major changes to your business model?
Although I had been in business for a while, I was operating my business like a side hustle, instead of a fill fledged business. During the pandemic, I was pregnant and teaching 5th grade English virtually. I knew I wanted to do more with my life, so I created a flyer and advertised that I offered business legalization services, namely LLC’s for $250. That move changed my life! Within that year, my business tripled; I quit my job teaching school, leased an office space in Downtown New Orleans and opened my consulting agency. I never thought that a pandemic idea could allow me to make 6 figures in one year !
Danielle, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I own a faith based prayer ministry called Pray Pretty. My business is 3 fold: I offer consulting services to help new business owners
We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
It is absolutely possible to turn your side hustle into a full time career. As entrepreneurs, we have to be determined to make better choices that will lead to better outcomes. I worked tirelessly on my business. I worked every weekend, holidays and long hours in the beginning. I also set tangible goals with action steps. Setting goals helped me to see the vision I had for my business and create a plan to make my vision a reality.
One of the key milestones for me was choosing a CRM system. When my business load increased, I knew that I needed a way to effectively keep up with projects as well as communicate with clients. I researched programs and selected an amazing software that allowed me to automate many processes in my business .
This provided me with the space to create and scale
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Social media is a great resource for growing clientele. I am active on all social media platforms. In addition to posting about your products, you should allow your audience to get to know you as a person. People connect and support who they relate to. My clientele has grown with me and they are supportive and in turn, they share my brand with others
