Danielle, appreciate you joining us today. Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
Yes. I for sure wish I had found this career earlier.
I have always been a creative but I was never informed reading or writing, it was always being creative in other ways.
It wasn’t until I needed to find a hobby to help with my anxiety that I found reading. The a random joke with my dad prompted my first story after a dream I had.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a wife. I have been with my husband for over 16 years. I am a mother of two beautiful boys and that happens to be my favorite title over anything else.
As I stated before my career kind of came when I needed to find something to help with my anxiety. I found reading and writing were that thing for me.
I had a dream one day of a woman standing with a birth certificate in her hand and the story was born.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building my audience on social media is probably one of the hardest but most fun things for me. What a lot of people who are using social media to market don’t realize is that people want to know YOU. They don’t want the fake social media version they want the real, messy, maybe even lack luster version of you. If they can relate to you they are more likely to follow and engage.
Do you sell on your site, or do you use a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc?
I do have my own website that I sell on , which is my favorite because I can send extras and goodies and make the package more personal with my signature etc.
I chose to publish a few different places. Amazon being the biggest one, but my books are also available wide in places like Barnes and Noble, Walmart, target etc.
