We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Danielle Hosmer. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Danielle below.
Danielle, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
Naming anything—especially something as personal as a business—is no small task. For me, the name “ToriBella Photography” is more than just a brand; it’s a reflection of my heart and the driving force behind my work.
ToriBella is a combination of my daughters’ names, Victoria and Isabella. They are my greatest inspirations, and naming my business after them felt natural because they embody everything I strive for as a photographer—beauty, strength, and an ever-evolving story. Just as they have shaped my life, they remind me daily of why I do what I do: to capture the moments that matter, to preserve emotions in their purest form, and to create something lasting.
Photography has been my passion for as long as I can remember, and ToriBella Photography is the realization of that dream. Knowing that my daughters’ names are attached to my work pushes me to be the best I can be—both as an artist and as a business owner. It’s a constant reminder to uphold the highest standards of creativity and professionalism, to approach every project with passion, and to leave behind a legacy of visual storytelling that speaks to the depth and beauty of human connection.
For me, photography isn’t just about taking pictures—it’s about telling stories that will be cherished for generations. And with ToriBella Photography, I get to do that with a name that holds deep personal meaning, making every captured moment even more special.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Absolutely. One of the biggest pivots in my life happened during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the time, I was working as a nurse in an outpatient clinic, facing the daily challenges of not working due to the inability to perform elective procedures during this incredibly difficult time. While I have always been deeply passionate about nursing, the pandemic forced me to take a hard look at my own well-being, my long-term goals, and what truly fulfilled me on a deeper level.
Photography had always been my creative escape, my passion, and something that brought me immense joy. Before COVID, I had been doing it professionally but at a slower pace, mainly through word-of-mouth referrals. However, the pandemic shifted everything. As the world changed, so did my perspective. I realized that life is too short to put dreams on the back burner, so I made the bold decision to lean into my photography business—ToriBella Photography—more than ever before.
During lockdowns and restrictions, people longed to capture moments with their loved ones, to preserve memories that felt even more precious in uncertain times. Families wanted portraits, couples sought engagement sessions, and small business owners needed branding photography to pivot their own businesses online. I recognized the opportunity and poured my energy into growing ToriBella Photography into a thriving business.
That decision was life-changing. I refined my skills, invested in my brand, and started taking on more paying clients. Photography gave me a renewed sense of purpose and balance during a time of chaos. It was a creative lifeline that reminded me why I had picked up a camera in the first place—to tell stories, to capture raw emotions, and to freeze time in a way that matters.
Looking back, pivoting into a more prominent role as a professional photographer wasn’t just a business move; it was a deeply personal transformation. It reaffirmed my belief in following what sets your soul on fire and trusting that even in challenging times, there is always an opportunity to create something beautiful.
Today, ToriBella Photography is stronger than ever, and I’m incredibly grateful for the decision to take that leap. Life has a way of pushing us toward our true calling—we just have to be willing to listen and take action.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist and creative, especially as a photographer, is the ability to express myself while capturing the essence of my subjects in a way that reveals their beauty, authenticity, and emotion. Photography is more than just taking pictures—it’s storytelling through light, composition, and perspective. It’s about seeing beyond what’s obvious and drawing out the soul of a moment.
Through my lens, I get to freeze time, elevate the ordinary, and turn fleeting emotions into lasting works of art. There’s something deeply fulfilling about showing someone a side of themselves they may not have seen before—whether it’s confidence in their eyes, joy in their smile, or the depth of their story in a single frame. Helping people feel seen, appreciated, and celebrated through my work is a privilege that fuels my passion every day.
Creativity, to me, is not just an outlet—it’s a way of connecting, inspiring, and leaving an imprint. Photography allows me to bring out the best in my subjects, to highlight the beauty in the world around us, and to create something that speaks beyond words. That’s what makes this journey as an artist so meaningful.
