We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Danielle Green. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Danielle below.
Danielle, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What was the most important lesson/experience you had in a job that has helped you in your professional career?
Prior to starting my own business, I worked as a preschool teacher for 14 years.
We have a week long curriculum on health and wellness. During this week I introduced the kids in my class to sound bowl (singing bowl) meditation. The children loved sitting with their eyes closed and listening to the beautiful sound. We would take deep and calming breaths then touch our thumbs to each finger and say together “peace begins with me.”
After the week was over, the children wanted to know when we were going to do meditation again. This started a daily practice in my class. By the end of the school year I had 20 pre-K students sitting in silence for 5 minutes! It was awe inspiring. My thought was if we could get kids in all schools learning how to self regulate, breathe and meditate what an incredible and peaceful world we will create.

Danielle, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Danielle Green. I have been working with children and adults teaching mindfulness and meditation techniques along with creative expression since 2022.
As I interacted with children throughout the years as teacher, I noticed many of them had trouble expressing their emotions and they did not know how to handle big feelings in a safe productive way.
Once I started teaching mindfulness and creativity together we could begin to put words to the feelings and breathe. Along with other healthy coping tools including more time in nature. This was a winning recipe and this practice has helped many children from 3-high schoolers.

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
The business that I have developed is the coupling of mindfulness and creative expression. I have taken numerous classes, workshops, read countless books on psychology and philosophy. In addition, teaching is an everyday practice for me. Attributes that have helped me find success are:
-I take my job seriously.
-I have found something I’m good at and have a real passion for. I love getting out of bed everyday and I get excited to work.
-I feel in my heart that I am making a difference in the lives of children.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
My business is in a small town in Massachusetts. Local schools, town fairs and events have been instrumental to the growth of my business and networking. In addition working as a teacher in pre-k and in the elementary education system gave me a good number of contacts who wanted their children to continue to learn and grown with my teachings. My reputation is great because I believe in being my most authentic self. I speak from the heart, I am kind and genuinely want the best for all of my students.
