We recently connected with Danielle Evans and have shared our conversation below.
Danielle, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
FitLogistix was founded on the basic principal of customer service. Founders Danielle and Joelle believed that they could create a company where the customer experience was the number one focus. We have experienced first hand over and over the lack of customer service and professionalism both personally and running our business. FitLogistix carefully chose vendor partners that align with our mission. When you are driven to exceed customer expectations you create brand loyalty. When you have brand loyalty your clients are quick to recommend you as a trusted partner. We believe the sale starts after our customers make the purchase. Whether you buy a dumbbell or a room full of fitness equipment our promise is to provide exceptional customer service and support.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
FitLogistix is the vision and creation of Danielle Evans and Joelle McCasland. Best of friends for the past 24 years, they have worked as colleagues and as competitors building individual reputations as the top fitness sales and service professionals in the markets they serve. Sharing a love of fitness and a passion for customer service, each has been consistently recognized by their employers and peers alike for their individual successes and achievements. Believing that by combining their talents and resources, they could offer their clients a truly “best in class”, customer service based, complete fitness solution, they formed a partnership and FitLogistix was born in 2011. FitLogistix known throughout the United States as the final word in commercial fitness equipment. The FitLogistix experience offers its customers areas of design, delivery, installation, and preventive maintenance programs. Or, put more simply — a turn key solution for all your fitness needs. We are proud to be a top 5 distributor for Matrix Fitness in the United States!
How’d you meet your business partner?
Danielle moved from Southern California to Sunny Arizona in 1999 and landed a job as the general manager of an all women’s health club. At the first franchise meeting she was introduced to the spunky manager of the sister club – Joelle. The 2 became fast friends. Through the years Joelle and Danielle have shared every aspect of their lives together i.e marriage of Danielle to her husband Michael and the birth of all their kiddos! 5 between them. 2 in college ( ASU and NAU) and 2 going off to college (ASU and UofA- We got all the colleges in Arizona covered!) and 1 heading to high school. All the kids have and their husbands have become the best of friends. They both landed jobs at the same company where they learned all aspects of the fitness equipment industry. They even became competitors at one point! That didn’t last long as they came together knowing that by combing their talents and belief in customer service they would be unstoppable. That was 11 years ago. FitLogistix has truly become a family business as Danielle husband is now the VP of Sales and Joelle’s husband Brent is VP of National Accounts.
We’d really appreciate if you could talk to us about how you figured out the manufacturing process./
After we started FitLogistix we learned that there was a lack of customer service in the On-Demand Fitness category. Our customers were tired of spotty internet connectivity and the costly monthly charges. We decided to create a new company that offered On-Demand Fitness to our clients with no monthly fee and FitX On-Demand was born. From sourcing our kiosk, developing and filming the exercise videos, and designing customer friendly software the manufacturing process began. Looking back it was a long, arduous task to find the right manufacture, the right parts and the right process. We learned a lot from trial and error. There was definitely a lot of mistakes during the first few years. It was all a learning process. Now we have a precise process and every year we are able to make more improvements that save both time and money. Perseverance was the key to success.
