We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Danielle Edney a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Danielle thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
Both of my parents are on time. When I say on time, I mean ON TIME. I am a child of divorce and so the lesson I’ve learned from both of them being on time without living together or even being aware that the other was so incredibly spot on with demonstrating their impeccable timing has impacted my life and who I am exponentially.
To elaborate, that means arriving on time, estimating the time needed to depart to arrive on time, and estimating that correctly, before we had phones to tell us exactly how much time it would take to arrive somewhere. That assumes knowing traffic patterns and directions in your head.
This is a trait that watching two people do exceptionally well over time has had an impact on my life significantly. When you layer on being a mother, timing is something that is so second nature to me, it feels effortless at this point in my life.
The way that I am able to manage my time, navigate traffic and timing my schedule are second to none. I also have tremendous peace about knowing that no matter what, I won’t be late (99% of the time). If you’ve ever met someone who is consistently late you may experience a sort of chaos around them that may or may not be helpful to a situation. It’s not a dig on late people as they have their considerable positive attributes as well BUT for me, being on time is a superpower. Powered by two parents who were impeccable with their time.
This gives my family and my clients the assurance they need to feel safe and also that no step will be skipped. It allows me to be present, less stressed and confident about what I’m doing and is also a nerdy fun fact about me.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
With a deep-rooted love for Los Angeles and a penchant for buying and selling dream homes, I bring a unique blend of expertise and heart to LA real estate.
My connection to this city runs generations deep. My grandfather, a trailblazing real estate broker in the 1940s, laid the foundation for my passion, but as I’ve grown up and started my own family here, it’s become even more important to me to preserve LA’s history while embracing all the nuances of modern living. I have an intimate understanding of the city’s unique neighborhoods, a gift I use to help clients find their perfect LA lifestyles.
At Danielle Edney Homes, we’re not your typical real estate team. Our sharp eye for detail, deep LA roots, expert negotiation skills, and concierge-style service sets us apart.
Whether we’re working with professional athletes, celebrities, or fellow LA locals, we know that every client is unique. We don’t just match buyers with houses; we craft curated experiences, providing value at every step of the real estate journey, to guide our clients toward successful transactions that help them build their dream lives. I’m passionate about helping my clients make smart decisions they’ll feel good about today and 10 years from now.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of new clients for me has always been through referrals. In a space like real estate where you are typically purchasing the largest most expensive asset you’ll ever purchase its a very intimate experience for most, and that is across the board whether you have just enough money or more than enough money.
Once you go through something like that it bonds you forever to the person who helped you to make your dream a reality. From there a lifelong friendship and partnership is born because of the trust that has been established.
Delivering keys is my addiction. There is no better feeling and once you work with someone and bond that way, you want to clone them and do it again. The best way that that can happen for me is by a referral to a friend, colleague or family member who has the same temperament, compatibility and appreciation for the hard work that we do.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think in reference to how the effect of what my parents did right with their timing is that being consistent has also become second nature. I’m pretty disciplined when it comes to a routine both personally and professionally. I’ve consistently shown up these past 4 years of being a full time Realtor.
I’m marketing myself consistently through social media, creating content, knocking on doors, scheduling the delivery of marketing materials, enhancing my branding, and putting myself out there. Saying yes more. Remaining open and fluid.
More than any other thing, I invested in coaching. I invested in myself to learn how to build my reputation. The discipline and consistency were already underlying traits that I possess and honing my skillsets with a coach has catapulted my career and business.
