We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Danielle Blessing. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Danielle below.
Danielle, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.
As a bridal hairstylist, I provide a luxurious bridal experience by traveling to the bridal party! This provides a seamless morning! A lot of times, brides can feel stressed because there are so many moving parts. By traveling to the bride, this is one less thing to worry about! Everyone is there, together enjoying the morning instead of rushing around to get to the salon.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I always loved styling hair! My favorite has always been updos, ever since I was a little girl! I remember I would always style my sister’s hair. I began my career in 2009 at a salon located in Southeast Missouri after graduating cosmetology school in 9 months at a local cosmetology school! Saturdays were always my favorite day to work since the majority were booked with weddings! I was always the go-to stylist for special occasion styles! Fast forward to May 2017, I had my second child. With plans of going back to work in the salon, I just couldn’t do it. I wanted to be home. I didn’t want to miss my children being so little. I wanted to be there as much as I could for them. After much discussion, we decided that I would step out of the salon, I felt such a sense of relief. I was so happy to stay home and raise my little tribe…. I did miss weddings though. After staying home for nearly 2 years, my husband helped give me the push that I needed! He said to me, “Why don’t you go out on your own and do weddings”? The devil really tried to get in my head…. Can I do that? How do I do that? Where do I start? It felt scary, but I knew this is exactly what I was supposed to do, so I did it! I started with, you guessed it- SOCIAL MEDIA! I created a page, made a website, created content, and connected with as many like minded business owners in the wedding industry that I could! I made so many friends along the way! What sets me apart from others is that I am a traveling bridal stylist! I travel to you on the wedding day! There are so many moving parts in weddings. I want brides to feel confident in knowing they can trust my expert hands. It is important to help provide a calm, relaxed morning. I am so grateful for the flexibility that this has given me! I am blessed to be able to stay home through the week and homeschool my three children.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Word of mouth has really helped grow my business. Providing a great experience, speaks volumes!
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Using my God given talent and playing a part in their special day is such and incredible reward.
