We recently connected with Danielle Anderson and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Danielle thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
First and foremost, This is by far the coolest interview question I have ever answered, haha. But my parents raised me to be my own womxn and to never hold back. My parents are total opposites, astrologically and in every other way possible but that’s what makes them an amazing team. My mother, the caring Cancer, taught me to always love and love without limits in all that I want. She taught me to truly wear my heart on my sleeve but my dad, the courageous Capricorn, taught me to wear that heart with style, class and have a pretty glass casing around it. His teachings were not so much of loving everything but putting my best into all I do. The combination of their teachings makes me want to be the best version of me everyday and love doing so.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Well I am a model and actor, drama/acting being my first love actually got me into modelling. And more so, the women in my life, got me to see my self worth and my own beauty and talents, with that I took my craft seriously. Having the background of a thespian made it a little and I mean a tad bit easier to dabbled in both editorial and commercial modelling. And being that I’m a freelance model, that’s a plus for networking purposes and gaining more experience and exposure. I’m most proud of my voice growth within all of this, I honestly used to be very timid when it came to me at least. I did not have the highest self esteem, nor confidence. I found myself with modeling and in that found my voice for not only myself but other people and that’s what separates me as well. Modelling and acting for me is putting out creativity with a message, the more I find my voice, the easier it is to compel those messages and create MAGIC.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Whew, well the biggest lesson I feel I have had to unlearn, so far; always putting others first. Now let me explain, because I love making sure my folks are more than good! However, I realized that along the way, when things got especially bad for me, it was nearly IMPOSSIBLE to do for others regardless of how much I wanted too. Always make sure you can do the best for you before you try to do the best for anyone else.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Honestly, I think what got people to look at me more was two things, my pictures with messages and my rant times! Like I said before, modelling helped me find my voice both metaphorically and literally. Most of my work, if not all of it, has a message, a bigger picture if you will. I want people to look at my pictures and/or films and look deeper, either make their own conclusion or discuss among others. And my rant times, well truly those were for me tbh, haha. But then, I realized I’m not the only one feeling these feelings, why not discuss them with those I love? Then those I love became bigger and broader and more eyes came and well, the rest is history!
