Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Daniela Tabares. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Daniela, appreciate you joining us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
Back in 2019, when COVID-19 hit, life got real interesting. I was juggling a full-time corporate position and building my brand, living with my parents, and chasing around a two-year-old toddler. The uncertainty of the times made me realize that my job might not be secure, and the idea of being sent home or layed off was frightening at first.
Fortunately, we were indeed sent home to work remotely. This change allowed me to spend more time with my toddler, making it a blessing in disguise. So, there I was, thinking about how to provide for my family or whether building my brand was still a risk worth taking.
It was during this period of concern that I remembered advice from a mentor stressing the importance of having multiple sources of income. The idea stuck with me, and I started exploring alternatives. Working from home gave me a taste of more time freedom, so I started nosing around the digital world and what opportunities it would have for an aspiring speaker and creator.
Ended up stumbling into affiliate marketing – a world I knew nothing about. Scary? You bet. Especially while trying to raise a tiny human . But the idea of making an income and building skills from the comfort of home, was started to get convincing. Taking that leap of faith into the unfamiliar world of affiliate marketing turned out to be a significant pivot in my life. As I navigated this new journey, I discovered the joy of sharing products I loved with others, all while being present for my daughter.
Turns out, I got a kick out of helping fellow moms shake things up for the better. It wasn’t just about taking calculated risks; it was more like taking any risk that felt right at the moment.
Long story short? Rolling with the changes, trying something new, and taking risks can lead to some unexpected turns. For me, it wasn’t just navigating the ups and downs of COVID; it was finding my purpose in the digital world. Maybe it’s time to toss caution aside and see where the journey takes you. Who knows, you might stumble upon a path that fits your brand, goals and family priorities.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
I love watching TED talks! It truly inspiring and a great reminder to always feed your mind first as a business owner.
Some books I would recommend are: Go Pro by Eric Wore, The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy and Believe It by Jamie Kern. These book’s were true gems because they were like guides for my business and personal growth journey.
true GEMS because they’re like guides for your business and personal growth journey. They’re not just about making money; they’re about making you a powerhouse.
“Go Pro” equips you with the mindset and strategies of successful entrepreneurs, getting you to think like a TRUE PRO.
“The Compound Effect” is your guide to the magic of small, consistent actions – the secret sauce for both business success and personal growth.
“Believe It” by Jamie Kern is a dose of resilience and belief, essential for navigating the rollercoaster of entrepreneurship and life and truly a great book to open up anytime you feel defeated.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Staying authentic and finding your target audience, those who relate to you, who want to hear your story. I also believe being active on your social media stories is key! More people watch stories than anything else, instead of just posting it’s important to create strategic authentic stories in order to help walk your viewers through your journey as an entrepreneur!
