Alright, Daniela thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?
I am 1000% happier as a business owner. Despite the uncertainties and unpredictability that come with entrepreneurship, there’s so much personal satisfaction from developing a product that actively makes a difference in people’s lives. Unfortunately, from my experience working a regular salaried job as a consultant, I felt a disconnect between the work I was doing and the real-life impact that it had.
Of course, sometimes I do miss the comfort and security of having a “regular” job, but I wouldn’t trade entrepreneurship for anything. At the end of the day, I place greater value on building a business that works to improve people’s lives, as well as having a better work-life balance.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Dani and I’m the CEO & co-founder of Neems Jeans! Neems Jeans is a made-to-order premium denim brand that creates custom jeans to your body for a perfect fit. We use leading digital body scanning technology to capture your body measurements, design your jeans digitally, handcraft them in our Los Angeles facility, and send your perfectly-fitting pair to your doorstep all within 2 weeks.
Our mission at Neems is to revolutionize the notoriously size-exclusive fashion industry by empowering men and women of all shapes and sizes with the confidence they deserve in their custom jeans. We have been featured in CNN, Byrdie, Marie Claire, and Insider as the “best fitting pair of jeans you’ll ever wear”.
We’re also proud to ethically handcraft each pair in LA, exclusively using upcycled deadstock denim to fight the battle against textile waste. With each pair made on demand, we do not hold inventory and eliminate the risk of overproduction, one of the biggest issues plaguing the fashion industry.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of new customers for Neems is positive word-of-mouth from our existing customer base! Most of our new customers are hear about us and are recommended from a friend, family member, or co-worker who tried Neems and loves their perfectly-fitting jeans.
As known in the industry, word-of-mouth marketing is the most effective (and cheapest!) form of marketing; in fact, studies show that people trust their friends’ personal recommendations above all other sources of information in the buying process. We’re so fortunate to have a very loyal customer base that voluntarily spreads the word about Neems to their peers!

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Something I’ve had to unlearn is that I have to be productive and useful every second of the day. For some reason, I used to believe that I had to be “on” 24/7 and would feel immense guilt if I took a break. Of course, this has backfired in the past and has resulted in me getting burnt out.
I’ve now reframed my mindset to accept rest and leisure as very important forms of productivity! Our brains need time to recharge and rest in order to perform at their best. I don’t always have to be “on”, and I am so much more than my work.
