Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Daniela Moreno . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Daniela, thanks for joining us today. Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?
Starting a business in the photography space, I knew I wanted to be in charge of the social media. Creating content is the reason I started my studio and following that curation through the socials has always been very important to me. I want the essence of who I am as person to be shown when someone visits our page. It’s an extension of my mind, my visions and I wanted the content to be internal.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My love for everything visual started at a very young age. Before social media, I would cut up magazines and makes collages to put in my room because I was always craving visuals. I was photography editor of my high school’s newspaper and fell in love with the business side of taking photos. Fast forward years later and I began my blog, Iron N Salt, where I started working with brands and getting more in the content creation sphere. After years of independently hustling for jobs, I decided I wanted to grow as a creator and open my own studio. The concept came to me very naturally and it was just about taking the right steps to build the entire business that is MOE studio today. There were countless challenges in process and many times I thought it wasn’t going to be possible but we’ve been open for a year now and it’s been the most amazing, wildest ride of my life.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Around two weeks before we we’re going to launch, the city of Miami denied the studio electricity and we had no power. It was mid July in Miami and the heat was unhealthy. We had our campaign shoot the following week with my ultimate muse, Jen Ceballos, and I was extremely nervous that I had to call the whole project off because FPL couldn’t recognize the address of our studio in their records. It took a miracle and lots of knocks on the city’s door to get them to connect power in time for the launch party. We shot the entire campaign without electricity, the models sweating (but not one complain) the energy was powerful, beautiful because everyone involved in that shoot knew they were there to make someone’s dream come true. The energy was magnetic during that shoot, it’s the best day of my life so far. Resilience is everything when starting a business.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Giving our guests the best experience and remaining consistent every time they come to assure they return. It’s important to treat people well and give them a welcoming experience. We pride ourselves with 5 stars in google and pay attention to details that maybe other studios don’t provide.
