Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Daniela Lindh. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Daniela, thanks for joining us today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
When I was 16, I began my journey into the world of hairdressing. Over three years I delved into the fundamentals of hair, including cutting, coloring, perming, and updos. I also learned the basics about skin and nails during this time.
I vividly remember the day when Rapunzel of Sweden, a company based in my hometown of Umeå, visited my school to teach us about hair extensions. At that time, the available methods were limited to individual techniques like k-tips, I-tips, and micro links, as well as a braided sew-in method and temporary options like clip-ins.
I was immediately captivated and eager to learn more. I bought a heating tool and practiced on my friend. I remember how sore my fingers and wrists were after and despite the pain I endured, the incredible transformation I did made it all worth it.
Initially, I focused on k-tip installations but eventually the salon I worked at started using Hairtalk tape extensions. I found tape-in extensions to be a game-changer due to their efficient installation process, although the re-installation could be messy with tape residue left on the hair.
In late 2021, I discovered the invisible bead method, and after trying it out myself, I was completely sold. I was so impressed by how it looked and felt in my hair that I decided to learn the technique myself. Early in 2022, I took a class to master this method and it has become my preferred technique ever since.
Recently, I had the opportunity to explore another method after being contacted by Kiara Bailey, the owner of Hair Lingerie. Despite my initial hesitation about another tape-in method, I flew out to Las Vegas for a class and was amazed by how seamlessly these tape-in panels blended with the hair. The quality was truly outstanding.
I am thrilled with the evolution of my skills and techniques in the world of hair extensions, and I am excited to continue learning and growing in this dynamic field.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I was born and raised in Sweden in the 90s. My mom’s Swedish heritage and my dad’s Sicilian background really fueled my love for all things artistic.
My creative spark was ignited by my Swedish grandmother, who made sure my childhood was filled with colorful activities like knitting, embroidery, sewing, and baking. My grandfather on my dad’s side was also a very talented artist.
In Sweden, schools place great emphasis on nurturing children’s creativity through engaging subjects such as music, woodwork, needlework, art, and cooking. Interestingly, these classes are mandatory for all children up to the age of 15. During my upbringing, I found myself drawn to a variety of artistic expressions, including sketching, oil painting, pottery, and sculpting.
At the age of 16, I started my journey in hairdressing at a local school in Umeå. Through hard work and dedication, I landed a position at Hårizont immediately after graduating hairdressing school. Throughout the years, I pursued training with renowned brands such as Kevin Murphy, American Crew, Sebastian, Saco, and Wella.
Despite my passion for hairdressing, I took a break after five years to pursue a business merchandising course at Santa Monica College. During this time, I explored different career paths while keeping my love for hairstyling alive and staying updated about the latest trends and techniques.
I have been fortunate to receive guidance from Anastasia K Los Angeles, a distinguished hair extension specialist and mentor for hairstylists. In 2024, I was personally selected by Caitlin Meehan, the founder of Blú Smart Tools and co-creator of the curriculum for Bellami Hair Extensions, to participate in an extensive hair extension course in Philadelphia. Moreover, I have trained in Lana Phan’s highly successful invisible bead method, which has now become my preferred technique for most clients.
In May of this year, I had the privilege of attending a training session at Hair Lingerie headquarters in Las Vegas, alongside the founder, Kiara Bailey. I am proud to announce that I am now a certified Hair Lingerie Specialist, providing top-notch hair extensions and an innovative system that exceeds anything I’ve encountered before. With a substantial number of Scandinavian clients with fine hair, I truly appreciate the benefits of Hair Lingerie’s extensions, as they lie flat and seamlessly blend into the hair.
I aim to use only eco-friendly products and offer organic kerain treatments by Amitys USA. Additionally, I am now a proud reseller of Ell’s Holistic Beauty Bar products, a female-owned company based in LA. My goal is to offer solutions for women who struggle with hair insecurities, ensuring that they leave the salon feeling beautiful inside and out.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Being an artist or creative person fills me with an incredible sense of purpose!
Working with my hands to create brings me so much joy and excitement. Plus, the freedom of working for myself is just unbeatable. One of the best parts of my profession is having the opportunity to positively influence people, particularly women.
My ultimate goal is to make my clients leave the salon feeling confident, beautiful, and uplifted. I truly believe that hair is like a crown that we never take off, so it’s essential that it always looks amazing. Hearing sweet messages from my clients about how much they love their hair and how it boosts their confidence and beauty warms my heart and makes everything so worthwhile!

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I absolutely love the Arnold Schwarzenegger documentary on Netflix! As an immigrant, I can really relate to his story. In the first episode, when he talks about feeling the need to be in America to succeed, and I felt the same way. I had never been to America before, and for many years, I didn’t know what I was doing here. But eventually, things started falling into place, and now I feel like I’m on the right path, fulfilling my true purpose in life. It’s a great feeling. I’m meeting so many new people and constantly feeling inspired by the city.
I also recommend David Goggins. Whenever I face difficulties, especially when I’m working out, I think of David running on broken legs. It convinces me that one, two, or ten more reps definitely won’t kill me if he was able to run on broken legs. He talks about how to callous your mind, and I believe everyone would benefit from listening to his story. Despite facing many challenges, he’s still fighting hard to achieve his goals in life.
