We recently connected with Daniel Robles and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Daniel , thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.

My entire life, I knew exactly what I wanted to do, which was film production. My passion for filmmaking started at the age of 10, making short youtube videos. Throughout my years in school, my dream was to attend a Film School and graduate as a Film major. Hence, when I was accepted to attend a Film School, turning it down was the biggest risk I have ever taken. I decided to pursue business instead which was one of the best decisions I have ever made. However, my passion for film continues and to this day I still make videos.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

My name is Daniel Robles. I am a 4th year business marketing major at Cal State Fullerton and graduating this summer with a Bachelor’s degree. Throughout my time in college, I’ve done various volunteer work for small local businesses and nonprofit organizations. My role was to film and edit videos to promote their business. My volunteer work has opened doors for me and led me to my current internship, which is to promote an upcoming feature film.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

When I started making videos, I would receive negative feedback from viewers. This made me feel discouraged and not want to make videos anymore. One of my teachers who would watch my videos told me to keep going and not listen to the negativity of others. My teachers inspired me not to give up and keep doing what I love most, making videos.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

What motivates me the most is my passion for creating content. I am always striving to better my skills in my areas of interest, which is a constant effort. I hope to one day be able to make a difference and inspire others through my work.
