Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Daniel Paddack. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Daniel , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
All my life I’ve taken risks. From an early age I knew I wouldn’t find fulfillment from taking the easy and safe route. I always had trouble in school, I got my first job delivering news papers, later getting a job through a family friend at an amusement company, and moving from Illinois to Northern California as soon as I turned 18. I started farming and did that for three years until I decided to move back to Illinois and get my associates degree in applied science. After getting my two year college degree I continued farming but quickly realized it wasn’t giving me the satisfaction and fulfillment I thought it would. A friend of mine happened to tear his bicep and called me to fill his place for a festival in Chicago called ARC Festival. I had never worked in that industry or set up a festival. I quickly agreed and was ready to take it on. It was “controlled chaos” as I like to call it. I worked my ass off and was able to catch the attention of some other employers who have grown to become people who I look up to and consider family. After that, the jobs kept flooding in. Ever since then I’ve been tracking the country non stop, catching flight after flight, working major festivals such as Coachella, EDC Orlando, Under the Big Sky, Electric Zoo, Day Trip, Summer Smash, Rolling Loud, and many more. I live on the road! As time has gone on, I realized I need to focus on investing my money correctly to be able to take care of my family. Which led to me renovating homes and consistently investing in the stock market. My number one goal is to be able to take care of my family, retire my parents, and make sure they are set for life. Nothing will get in my way and I will work my ass off to ensure I’m able to do so. All I know is take risks, respect others, and out work everyone.
Daniel , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My company, DVSN1, focuses on event production and site operations for festivals. I operate heavy machinery, do manual labor, and work non stop to make sure the job gets done correctly. It was a freak accident I got into this industry. One of my friends tore his bicep and asked for me to fill in. It was something I had never done before! But I worked my ass off, asked questions, observed, and took off from there. I take pride in what I do. I wake up early everyday to get my workout in before work, eat healthy, respect my body, and put others in positions to win. I love creating opportunities for others. Creating that burning passion in people and showing them they can do whatever they set their mind to.
On top of that, I invest every dollar I own into real estate, renovating homes, and the stock market.
Have you ever had to pivot?
At a young age I was going down a bad path. Getting into trouble, battling addiction, and unsure of what I was doing/where I was going. My best friend Johnny died when he was 15 (I was 16) and it turned mine and my closest friends life upside down. It was a rude awakening. Something I hope others don’t have to go through to change their life. But for me, it really smacked some sense into my life. For a few years after I still battled addiction and bad habits. It wasn’t until I was about 22 I really figured out my “why” and realized this isn’t my practice life. I focus on getting 1% better daily. Knowing I can always better my best.
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
Lead by example. You need to be out there and do the work. Be right beside your coworkers, team, employees, etc… be the example of what to live by. No slacking, no days off type mentality. You want people to look up to you and take pride in working beside you. I hate the word “boss” be a LEADER. Motivate and inspire others to do better. Eat healthy, workout, and work like there’s no tomorrow. You need to find your “why” Mine is being able to provide for my loved ones. Maintain a positive attitude, have empathy, and be able to put yourself in others shoes.
