We recently connected with Daniel Jerez and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Daniel, thanks for joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Personally, success comes in stages. The small successes turn into big ones and it helps to take it one step at a time. Being successful varies person to person and can change depending on your current goals and ambitions. The thing that matters most to keep in mind is to allow yourself to fail. I know this is something that has been said before, but it is so important that you not only fail but allow yourself to be ok with it and learn to surpass and improve from those failures. That is the only way to succeed and become successful. But it’s also about acknowledging the small victories. Succeeding small amounts to big success and allows you to reach your ultimate goal. Even when you see others succeeding remember, it’s not about who gets their first but about getting there right.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Daniel Jerez, my journey with photography began almost 10 years ago and has consumed my creativity in the best of ways. I started with a simple interest in taking a picture and that quickly evolved into owning my first DSLR, to booking my first wedding and took off from there. As a photographer and Videographer I offer a service that preserves a memory and makes it last a lifetime in it’s most accurate form. I love being the one that gets to capture all those memories and giving them an everlasting presence is amazing. I believe in providing exceptional customer service and that is why I always give my customers a copy of their images and videos in a drive, have it on the cloud for them and also able to give them a copy whenever they want were they to loose the one I gave them. Once you have paid for the job once it’s yours! I always feel privileged to be chosen!
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative comes from two things. The first is seeing the customers face the first time they go through the work you turn in and seeing them relive the wonderful events that took place. But at the same time seeing all the little things they didn’t get to see. The face of the mom’s reaction to their first dance or a kids face as they see the bride in their dress for the first time. The memories that not only make the event amazing but enhance the feeling as they can see all the details they missed on that day. The second is seeing my work printed and in real life and the impact it has on the customers is the best feeling.
Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
Being part of a community was a huge missed opportunity. I am a bit of an introvert and it is sometimes hard for me to search for a community to rely, learn and grow from. This is the best way to learn and to become better in every aspect. Be open to other peoples views and be open to learn. Never underestimate the ability to learn from someone and never underestimate what fountain you can gain knowledge from. I also gained a lot of knowledge and understanding from the internet and the wonderful resources like YouTube. But as I said first the most important part is being part of a community with like minded individuals to help you improve!
