Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Daniel Jackson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Daniel , appreciate you joining us today. Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?
As someone who checks the news daily, I noticed a troubling trend: an increasing amount of pure negativity, especially in politics and business coverage. After reading business news daily for months, I realized that much of the reporting focused on the flaws—unethical practices, corporate greed, and toxic work environments—rather than the broader picture of what business represents.
Business, at its core, is about innovation and a burning drive to make a positive impact on the world; in other words, making your existence an important part of history. Unfortunately, many associate it only with money or corruption, and, after reading the news, I also began to lose sight of noble businesses’ potential to change the world. This inspired me to create The Noble Entrepreneur, a platform dedicated to celebrating innovation and the creative entrepreneurs who are solving problems and truly improving lives—there are so many amazing businesses that are changing the world for the better, but we never hear about them!
The goal of The Noble Entrepreneur is to reframe how people view business—not as an ugly corporate and political system rooted in greed, but as a force for good, especially when driven by noble causes like environmentalism. It’s about showing that innovation is not only essential but also beautiful. With over 200 subscribers, our growing audience proves that people do indeed want more stories of creativity and progress. I truly believe that humans are inherently wired to create amazing things, not to stay confined in rigid thinking, and my goal is to share stories that inspire and spark that creativity to life in others.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi! I’m Daniel, a high school junior who loves calculus, physics, engineering, environmentalism, and, surprisingly unrelated, journalism and philosophy. I started The Noble Entrepreneur (bethenoble.com) to merge my interests in entrepreneurship, stem, and storytelling, hoping to inspire and connect young innovators with similar interests as me!
My journey into entrepreneurship, if you can call it that, began with a desire to learn, create, and share. I truly believe that all humans are innately creative; we just have to find it within ourselves. I wanted an outlet where other life-long learners and I could express our thoughts on various topics in a comfortable setting while bringing awareness to certain issues like environmental sustainability, ethical practices in business, and the philosophy behind great innovation. Through articles, podcasts, and newsletters, I’m very much still on the journey to bridge the gap between all the things me and others are interested in learning more about.
So what do we do exactly?
At The Noble Entrepreneur we offer a variety of content, including articles, where we cover topics from startup strategies to philosophical reflections, like summaries of influential books like Eric Ries’s best seller The Lean Startup and James Clear’s Atomic Habits. We also are going to start doing podcasts: where we interview successful entrepreneurs, professors in academia with expertise in what we are interested in, and local nonprofit leaders to teach us life lessons and give us other valuable insights. And finally, we also have a newsletter called Weekly Insights, which is designed to help people better understand business and philosophy; we also provide actionable steps for personal growth.
So what makes us stand out?
One of the hardest parts about being an entrepreneur is coming up with ideas; it’s hard to be truly “creative” and create something revolutionary. That’s where we come in. We write stories and ideas to motivate and encourage our readers to take action. We look at case studies and provide our readers with clear and practical advice to help them navigate the challenges of being an entrepreneur.
The way in which we actually achieve this is what I think really matters.
What really distinguishes us from all the other newspapers and blogs out there is our unique blend of analyzing business and looking at how ideas and methods of thinking from other areas of study like philosophy, mathematics, and physics, can teach us how to think in different ways.
Pride and Achievements
I’m particularly proud of all the quality articles we put out. With a small, but dedicated, team, we’ve churned out 40 articles over the past year; why so few? Because we put a ton of time into researching each one to make sure it is of the best quality possible. That’s how driven we are and passionate about our, well, passions!
The Key Takeaways?
We are passion-driven: Our work is fueled by a genuine love for creation and innovation.
We are an educational resource: Especially for entrepreneurship education.
And we focus on ethics: The whole point of our newspaper is to promote noble causes; we want to encourage entrepreneurs to consider the broader impact of their ventures, not just the immediate rewards like money and status.
Through The Noble Entrepreneur, I aspire to inspire the next generation of innovators to pursue their dreams with knowledge, integrity, and a sense of purpose.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Absolutely! Every business should have a clear mission that they work towards. My main motivation for my creative journey honestly sounds pretty cliche: To have learned as much as I could and to have thoroughly enjoyed the journey to doing so! This could mean reading research papers to find sources for my articles or coding up some Python scripts for personal projects; I try to find little sources of joy in everything I do. Life’s too short to do things you really don’t like doing, so you may as well do your best to love the things you don’t really love, if that makes sense.
My main goal is to help aspiring entrepreneurs have a platform where they can discuss with each other about what they want to do and how they can learn and grow as businesspeople and creatives. There’s nothing more fulfilling than watching people grow and helping them find new passions.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Wow! I was just talking about this! But let me break it down deeper, because being a creative is so much more rewarding than lots of people may think, due to lower salaries and societal expectations.
To me, the most rewarding part of being a creative and a writer and a musician (and yes, these ALL tie in with each other tightly) is having the ability to bring so many different ideas, emotions, and stories to life in ways that can change other peoples’ views. I also love the feeling of completing something that I did myself; I love making something from nothing. The process of transforming a blank canvas, an empty page, into something that can make a difference in peoples’ lives is what makes all the work along the way totally worth it.
Beyond that, though, it’s also rewarding to watch your work cause conversations or bring out emotions in others; in some cases it could even mean causing some positive change in the world, albeit it small.
Ultimately for me, it’s the blend of personal fulfillment and purpose, the ability to connect to others on a truly human-to-human level, and leaving someone with a different perspective or idea than they originally had that makes being a creative so special.
