We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Daniel J. Brown. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Daniel J. below.
Daniel J., thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
Since I have been a kid, I’ve been fascinated by the world of YouTube, expressing my creativity in various ways. I experimented in creating small skits with friends, uploading them privately for personal enjoyment. My passion for video content grew as I consumed countless hours of YouTube throughout my upbringing watching various popular youtubers.
During high school, I honed my skills by editing basketball highlight reels from my own games for college coaches. Once reaching college, I continued to explore video creation, producing vlog-style content with friends, though these remained private, shared only among those featured.
It wasn’t until peers suggested I share my work publicly that I considered expanding my audience. However, with collegiate basketball commitments and academic responsibilities, consistency was a challenge, compounded by my value of a more private life.
The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic provided an opportunity for experimentation, as I found myself with more time on my hands. Embracing the medium with renewed vigor, I received encouraging feedback, spurring me to delve deeper into content creating.
About a year ago, I discovered my niche in crafting inspiring and cinematic vlogs. Working to make each video better than the next, I witness growth with each creation, motvating myself to elevate my content and maintain consistency. This journey continues to motivate me, driving me to push boundaries and reach new heights in all my creative endeavors whether that be creating, acting, and/or modeling.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Daniel J. Brown, on social media platforms and influencing spaces known as deeforthree. I am a social media influencer, youtuber, and actor. I’ve been taking social media influencing and youtuber serious for a little over a year now. I offer vlog-style relatable cinematic vlogs promoting travel, health and fitness, lifestyle, spirituality, and great relationships.
In my acting career, after gaining my major first opportunity with a role in Netflix’s “Hustle” (2022) featuring Adam Sandler and produced by Lebron James, I have consistently worked towards gaining exposure in new films, commercials, and shows. Being athletically toned 6’6 in height, I offer a unique set of skills and looks. Known for my “captivating eyes” and facial expression realism on set, I strive to be the best I can be in each and every role.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to unlearn is that everyone blows up overnight. Especially in creating for social media and youtube, things can take months to years no matter how good you are at your craft. It takes consistency, hard-work, and a lot of time to see just a little bit of growth. Some people are blessed that they post one video and they automatically gain fame, endorsements, etc. But for a huge majority, that is not the way it goes. And that is completely okay. There’s a lot of ups and downs through the process, but if you grow everyday individually and are confident in your work, people will find you. A lesson I’ve come to learn is that there is an audience out there for everyone no matter what you do. It’s up to you to go out and find them. Promote yourself, stay true to your values, and belief in your craft.
Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
As a creative, I’ve learned that you have to let your creativity out. If you stop it from coming from one place, it will find new avenues to express itself. Everyday I wake up or go to sleep with new ideas of things I can do, videos I can make, and ways to improve things I am doing. At first, I used to do everything that came to mind, but realized that wasn’t an efficient way of living. I’ve learned to take a back seat in some ideas and push forward on the things I am currently invested in. Once I get to a point to move on that idea or plan, it will happen, but having balance is always a struggle but its something I am learning everyday.
