We were lucky to catch up with Daniel Hutchinson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Daniel, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
Two moments defined my career path. The first was tearing my ACL right before college. At the time, it felt like my dreams were slipping away, but that setback forced me to confront who I was beyond athletics and taught me resilience in a way nothing else could. The second was working with a patient in Colorado whose story deeply impacted me and shifted how I thought about healing and human connection. Both moments reminded me that purpose is often born from pain, and they continue to shape how I show up in my work today.

Daniel, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Daniel Hutchinson, founder of Project Spark, a creative wellness brand in South Florida. My path here started with two turning points—tearing my ACL right before college, which pushed me to redefine myself beyond sports, and later working with a patient in Colorado whose story reshaped how I viewed healing. Both moments fueled my mission to use creativity as a tool for mental wellness.
Through Project Spark, I host workshops, events, and experiences that help people reconnect with themselves in ways that feel both approachable and meaningful. What makes us different is the way we balance fun and reflection. Helping people laugh, open up, and walk away lighter than when they came. I’m proud that Project Spark has become a brand that shows wellness can be both powerful and peaceful.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been social media. It’s been the bridge between my work and the people who need it most. Scaling Project Spark and building a community around it has come from showing up consistently online, sharing my story, and creating content that resonates. Social media has allowed me to connect with people far beyond my immediate circle and invite them into the community we’re building.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
My whole life has been a lesson in grit. Growing up, I faced financial roadblocks within my family, learned to navigate manhood largely on my own, and even experienced the pain of failing at the first thing I ever loved—sports. Each of those moments could have broke me, but instead they taught me that resilience isn’t about avoiding hardship, it’s about standing strong through it. Those experiences continue to shape how I move forward today.
