Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Daniel Hernandez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Daniel thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
One of my most meaningful projects was an 80th birthday that I captured a couple of years ago. There were 4 generations of family members there and it was just so beautiful to see all of them together, knowing that because I was there to capture them that they would have this moment for the rest of their lives. The family was so appreciative of the final project and for the first time doing video, I felt like it really mattered. I was able to capture joy, memories, and love that they would be able to feel and watch whenever they wanted and always be in that moment.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Daniel Hernandez, i’m 26 years old, and i’ve been shooting video for about 8 years now. I started in this industry with music videos and eventually branched out to branding videos and wedding films. I’m most proud of the memories that I can offer my clients, whether it be for their business or wedding. You’ll be able to watch your wedding film over and over feeling the same emotions you felt on your wedding day. You’ll be able to see family members that may have passed on and hear their laughs, see their smiles, and think of every cherished memory you have of them.
Let us capture these moments that will live on forever for you.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative after delivering your project, is getting a call/message from your client telling you how much they appreciate what you’ve done for them and them being so happy that they chose you to capture their event. It’s the little things that will keep you going at the end of the day.
We’d love to hear about you met your business partner.
My cofounder/business partner is my girlfriend. She’s actually the person that showed me how to use a camera. Without her, I wouldn’t be where I am or be able to book as much as I do. I started out shooting solo, but when it came to weddings and multiple bookings in a day I needed help. What better person to ask than who i’m with every day. There can be a learning curve to working with your significant other and it’s not for everyone, but if you can work through it it’s so much more beneficial than you’d think. Plus, all the money that you make comes back to your household.
