We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Daniel Becerra. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Daniel below.
Daniel, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
I live to innovate and create things that impact others. Any other monetary goal or status will always figure itself out as long as I keep my people first in my intentions. Growing up I felt isolated and most of what I remember of my home life was stress and arguments. The internet and music are what gave me perspective, helped me process emotions, and helped me escape my isolated life. All my family knew was work and struggle. Between those two, there is no time for living, loving, and growing. We were sinking. I grew to take on the purpose of being a voice to others that feel trapped in their own lives. Lost, depressed, demotivated, unheard, tired, and misunderstood. I will make a difference.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
KRINGE is a Recording artist from Houston Texas. A fully DIY situation that found its way off the ground. No help or guidance, I isolated myself and learned any trade I had to because I was not going to fail. The mission was to powerful to allow myself to stop. From instrumentation, to audio engineering, to music production, to videography, to graphic design, if there was no one to do it, I’ll do it myself. I was made to affect peoples lives. I was made to be a vessel. There are so many people struggling internally that feel like there is no way out. You are not your circumstances, you are your actions and intentions. I’m here for my community to motivate, inspire, and uplift these guys. What I create is raw and real. My genre is “me”.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I worked years in the chemical plants just to fund music. Wake up at 4am, get to the job site at 6am, get home by 7pm. Shower, eat, work on music, film content, sleep at 11pm and repeat for YEARS. I would post the content I filmed the night before during the day while I was working so people never knew I was at these refineries. I randomly landed a tour slot with Members Only and told myself it was time to fully attack this. I would NEVER work a job again. Even on my absolute last dollar I kept finding ways to keep going. I needed more time with music but also needed money. I started pressure washing peoples driveways and houses. I started doing social media management for local studios. I started leveraging my streams to get recording loans and marketing budgets. There was no way for my to stop. I was going to find a way in any situation to keep growing.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Its so hard to know who to listen to when you’re trying to make it in music. So many people know so much but are still nowhere. Who knows what they’re talking about? Who just got lucky? Who was right the whole time but just stopped a couple months before it worked? Who is just talking confidently to cover their insecurity and flaws?
No one knows how to do you better than you. I had to “unlearn” the whole mindset that people know what they’re doing and are in control. We are constantly learning. The industry is constantly changing and we all do our best with our own knowledge, situation, and resources. No one is in control, especially YOU. You are not, and never where in control. The people decide. The only thing we can control is our work ethic and discipline. Just focus on making the best product you can possibly make, and being the best YOU that you can possibly be. The best marking for a great song is a GREAT SONG.
