We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Daniel Allen. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Daniel below.
Daniel, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s something you believe that most people in your industry (or in general) disagree with?
“That Farming Causes Climate Change”
Before the Industrial Revolution, there were five times as many rumment animals roaming the earth.
Climate Change did not start occurring until humans started pumping out petroleum mediums into the atmosphere.
Regenerative Farmers, like myself, are helping to heal the climate. Cow farts are not the problem. Airplanes & cars are contributing. Geo-Engineering, chem-trails (yes, they exist) are contributing. (IE: trying to block the sun’s rays) which is the life-force for all living things on this planet, is not the solution. Transferring control from Big-Agri & petroleum based
agri-chemicals to a more sound approach as Regenerative Farming Practices would help clean up the earth’s ecosystem & environment.
Daniel, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Allenbrooke Farms is a Certified Organic Farm & Modern Barn Wedding Venue.
I got into the business of farming thru my family. My Grandparents bought what is now Allenbrooke Farms in the 60’s.
My Grandfather & Father farmed, making me a third generation TN Farmer.
I took the Farm over in 2010. I wanted the land to become a profitable business model vs a self sustaining plot that fed only my own family. 15 years later, the farm provides food & more to our local Spring Hill, Maury & Williamson Counties.
We grow a wide variety of produce, flowers & USDA certified organic hemp. We also have an onsite venue that provides a beautiful backdrop for weddings & corporate events & a on-site farm store where we sell our own commodity crops to the public, open May-October.
I’m proud that my family has not only kept the farm alive, but thriving. Middle TN is experiencing unprecedented growth & while many farms are being sold to developers who are turning them into subdivisions, we intend to keep the land intact & usnsold. We want to offer a space that provides clean food for our community & give the people access to local, organic food & farmers.
Do you have multiple revenue streams – if so, can you talk to us about those streams and how your developed them?
We have multiple revenue streams.
The Wedding Venue is one & we provide “add-on” amenities.
The farm store is another stream & our hemp contracts are a third source.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
In 2020, during the pandemic, we had to pivot in hemp due to all the hemp contracts going bust that Farmers had signed.
It’s now 2025 & we’re entering our 7th season farming hemp. There were over 3,000 licensed hemp farmers & now there are only a handful left. Every year has felt like a “pivot” but we always seem to be able to look ahead & figure it out.
Being in the hemp market, one must be flexible & willing to change when necessary.
