We recently connected with Danica Redin and have shared our conversation below.
Danica, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
I started modeling from the age of 6 in beauty pageants so that’s kind of where my training began but and I knew I wanted to expand my creativity and become a model and an actress so I honestly started watching YouTube videos, i started to train myself in learning the craft of acting and i also would ask friends who were also in the same industry how they learned the craft and if they had any advice to help me progress in my profession. Knowing what i know now I think I could have been more involved in actual acting classes to speed up my process sooner than I did. The skills I think are most essential are learning how to make the character your own but also playing the role how the producers need you to portray the character you are playing. I honestly think the only obstacles that stood in the way of me learning more at the time were my financials. Acting classes cost money, talent agency’s cost money so that was definitely my setback for a while being a single mother. However, i overcame that hump by working 2 jobs at the time and gaining the finances I needed to make my dreams come true. Everything i did to be where I am today was all for my little girl. My advice you just have to push yourself if it’s something you really want you have to take every chance and keep pushing forward it will all start to show in the end. If a single mom from Denver can do it working two minimum waged jobs, YOU can do it.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My Name Is Danica I am a Native from Denver Colorado, and I am a part-time traveling Model and Actress. Some people think of art as a form of color, painting and drawing and I think of art as using our bodies and voices to express a different type of art form. For someone to watch a tv show or a movie and really get sucked in because that actor/ actress is that great at portraying their role is where I strive to be one day. The Art/Craft of it all is so beautiful to me so that’s what really inspired me to start this journey I’m on with my acting and modeling career. I started in this career in pageants as a child, and as I got older, I went to beauty school, and I started to expand my art in doing hair and makeup for multiple photoshoots. Then one thing led to another, and I was no longer behind the camera but Infront of it modeling, and from there I was noticed and one more thing led to another, and I was asked to audition for my first commercial and now I’m working on my 6th movie. I think what sets me apart from others is my outgoing personality and wittiness, I am respectfully outspoken if that makes sense and I work hard for everything I have, I go above and beyond to prove my worth and I am a very driven, self-motivated and dedicated individual.
I am most proud that I made it thus far in my career I am very blessed to even say Babygirl Mommy did it I’m in a movie! I want to show my daughter nothing is out of reach. I am such a humble individual, and I want my readers to know if you want to be in my same industry i am all open to helping you out in any way I can.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Two Lesson I had to unlearn is the fear of failure and negative self-perception. Fear of failure I was scared at making any type of mistake therefore it prevented me from taking risks and trying new things but what I’ve learned is the beauty in learning from those mistakes and growing from them and coming out on top stronger than ever. Negative self-perception never believing i was capable of success which I’ve proven myself wrong on multiple occasions. Fear of failure doesn’t necessarily mean you will fail it just is an additional steppingstone you need to conquer over to become stronger than the fear itself. You are worthy of success you are worthy of making your dreams come true if you “fail” get back up and keep climbing till you get to where you are going and then keep going from their success has no expiration.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I started to build my social media following when i was a content creator on a live online platform call LIVIT now called 17 LIVE, i joined back in 2018 and started to gain a following from creating live videos, anything from pep talks, to cooking, to shopping or even being live while i was filming a commercial or modeling at a shoot. My advice on how to build a social media following would be to put yourself out there don’t be scared to be noticed.
